Ozrics with two drummers, like a proper jam band (Allmans, Dead, even HW at one point etc). Sideards - which gig did you see where two drummers actually played at the same time ?. let me clarify - I don't mean percussion and drums, or that one drummer played then stopped and another one took over (seen loads of them) I'm not doubting this has happened (everything does if you wait long enough), but I've been seeing the band for 21 years and never saw this before. If there is a recording of this... then... (put another one on the wish list mr brain!). Have you got a date and venue ?

hello everyone
firstly, i hope each and everyone of you is well, and send my love out to all on this mb.
quick post - i am not going to be playing in cardiff - although i would not miss this gig for anything!!!!!
ed, brandi, merv and joie are playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its going to be a full set (all live drums) and the setlist is an ozrix fans dream...i'm gonna be right at the front and doubt i'll stop smiling for the next decade!
i've had so much fun getting to know ed and brandi (better) over the last few months, and am very happy that they are now good friends. i'll be playing a couple of festivals this summer (drumming in the ozrix)...look out for me!!!!!
much love dominic x
--------------------- by the way - the band have played in finland in the past.... :0)

so if the Ozrics,Dream Machine,Eat Static and Spacepirates are all at Sunrise Festival,i take it Joie and Merv are playing with Ozrics ?? not that i can make it,but joyous to those who can !

Hi everyone! Nice round here, innit? Paradiddle - I would fully expect that to be the line-up for Sunrise and I for one can't wait to see it - the last time I saw Merv and Joie in the Ozrics was far too long ago!!! Its also a thrill, as I'm playing just before Ozrics with Paul Didge and Trancient Dreams - so, er, no pressure then in being the warm-up for such a fantastic band I reckon we'll cut it tho ;D

Mindflux - as usual - thinks he is omniscient, but - as usual - only knows half the story. Well, if he expects a certain line-up for Sunrise, that's his own personal expectation then. He forgets that there are still other synth players around. Some of those can still play the Ozrics setlist. Anyway, we shall see...

Are you saying, Harvest, that we might see the return of the ginger dreadlocks for the upcoming Ozric gigs? Or are you just commenting on Mr Flux's ability to foresee the future? What's Seaweed upto these days?

Dunno what's eating you Claudia, but ho-hum, eh?
I don't know anything that's going on with Ozrics, other than the gigs they are playing and I don't make any such assertion - as you said, that's my expectation. Its such a fluid line-up at the moment, even Dom thought he was playing a gig that he wasn't (Cardiff!). Nothing wrong with that - at least they are out playing.
Like paradiddle, I was making a logical assumption that with all those musicians being present at Sunrise, that may well be the line-up! Is it some sort of crime to guess who might be playing?
And you are saying much more than "Mindflux only knows half the story" - you are implying that Seaweed is playing. That would also be fantastic - he's been kept away from live performance for far too long, IMO.

Now then, now, then, now, zen, now zen. How amazing it would be to see Seaweed playing live with the Ozrics again, would love to hear/see his keyboard alchemy again, greatly missed!

he's been kept away from live performance for far too long, IMO. Mark - I wonder what you're implying here now. As far as I'm aware, Seaweed has been and still is fully capable of making his own decisions regarding live performances.

Post by mindflux on May 8, 2007 2:46:00 GMT -8
Not implying anything - he had been ill, hadn't he? I thought that was general knowledge? I certainly remember many people, including myself wishing him well. Last time I saw Seaweed playing was sharing the stage with him at Glade 06 and it was utterly fantastic, so I for one would like to hear more of it.
If you're reading anything else in to that, may I respectfully suggest that is your own inference?
Anyhoo, back to the topic :-)
Whatever the line-up, be it Ed, Brandi, Dom and Seaweed, or Ed, Brandi, Joie and Merv I will be watching and enjoying the performance. Haven't had a dose of live Ozrics for ages and am interested to hear how it all sounds these days.

In the end, I think we all want the same things: To see Ozrics, Dream Machine, Zub Zub and others create some mindblowing music. Merv and Joie are an exciting prospect for Ozric fans. Equally, if Seaweed was to play live again it would be received with much joy and affection by those who have seen him perform before. Let love n harmony abound!
