Strangeitude 1991 Jurassic Shift 1993 The Bits Between the Bits 1989 Is it weird that Bits was the year I was born? These are the three most prominent Ozric albums of my childhood.

The Bits Between the Bits 1989 Is it weird that Bits was the year I was born? Never thought about it that way, but Sliding Gliding World marks my year of birth... Also my favourite from early years, that's cool!

I have been playing Jurassic shift continuously for a couple of months now, love the way the tracks follow on, before that it was pungent, curious corn, hidden step, spirals in hyperspace, endless tunes revolving in my mind, great music. on the subject of age I probably share some musical influences with Ed Wynne, Zappa's progressive jazz rock stuff as an example

We need an updated poll, with all the newer stuff added! Although somehow I think the top 3 will probably be the same

3rd: ...Where's Paper Monkeys??? I put Spirals in Hyperspace as my placeholder for 3rd, just for the magic of Slinky and Toka Tola...
2nd: The Yum Yum Tree - I love to spin through what I call 'The Yum Yum Suite' to transition between energy levels in my DJ sets, starting with Mooncalf, into Oolong Oolong, and then Nakuru, which will always hold a special place in my heart - I literally owe my life to it. Optional pivot back to The Yum Yum Tree, Plant Music, or other tracks whose titles escape me at the moment (are Akasha, Will of the Wisps, and Plown on this one?). Some of the absolute most emotionally powerful music that's beautifully saturated with themes of nature and vitality I could imagine. As my brother says, "music with the power to change lives." I cannot believe that this doesn't have more votes!
1st: Waterfall Cities - Nothing can surpass the endless replay value and start to finish unrelenting power of this album! Coily, Xingu, Waterfall City, Ch'ai, Spiralmind, Sultana Detrii, fade out with Aura Borealis... Where else can you find a collection of consecutive tunes that are so unique while exuding such worldly spiritual energy in the journey you get to have the rare and esteemed privilege of experiencing in this plane of existence? Another reliable favorite for my sets, with several ways to mix one song to the next. Release date the year my youngest brother was born is a nice touch too.

I actually haven't listened to Paper Monkeys and Yum Yum Tree that much, but coincidentally I've been listening to PM regularly lately, and I will give YYT a few spins with the headphones on- thanks for pointing me back in their direction!

I actually haven't listened to Paper Monkeys and Yum Yum Tree that much, but coincidentally I've been listening to PM regularly lately, and I will give YYT a few spins with the headphones on- thanks for pointing me back in their direction! That's the way to do it, bud - a good set of cans makes ALL the difference! For most bass/mid-bass heavy tunes as in much of Waterfall Cities, I'd typically recommend the M50x by Audio Technica, but for very spacious atmospheric styles like Paper Monkeys and the Yum Yum Tree especially, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck than the semi-open K240 by AKG. Also, it MUST be said that Technicians of the Sacred and the brand new Space for the Earth are fawking amazing albums deserving of endless fanfare in their own right! My friends and I had quite the incredible lysergic full-moon Halloween this year, owed in no small part to Ozrics and Space for the Earth for fueling a most refreshing walk that felt like it could go on forever if I/we had let it. Or at least until the cannabis gummies kicked in, right on time for some relaxation and near-total stillness to be enjoyed back in my yard. Technicians also led us through our first and yet only experience with mescaline not much longer after it had been released. Our return to the earthly plane was only briefly suspended by a quick stopoff at Zora's Domain when Soda Water off Sliding Gliding Worlds got served up by the most serendipitous autoplay ever made by youtube, before or since. Even given my entirely fractured hold upon reality at the time, these are the kinds of experiences that I'll likely carry with me for the rest of my natural days.
