If you vote more than once does an alarm go off at Mikes house then ? Do the Ozric police come for you and give you 5 years hard toking ?

I like all of the music. After seeing them this year in Seattle and getting to watch them perform some of the new "studio" goodies, I had to give a vote for the YumYum.

I gave it up for BTO because of otters JS because it is truly one of THE best albums ever made and WC because of Boulder. I know that doesn't make sense to you all but it does to me. Peace and all that other hippie mumbojumbo

Peace and all that other hippie mumbojumbo I think I may know what you mean about WC and Boulder... first Ozrics shows I saw were two shows at the Fox supporting WC - would have caught them sooner but the show they recorded for Spice Doubt was the only US show they did from the time I got into them until that tour... well worth the wait

If I could have more votes I'd go for Erpland, Strangeitude, Underslunky, The Bits, Waterfall, The Floor and Spacelines...today. Tomorrow is another story.

I voted for SGW Matt. I think it is the strongest collection of tunes apart from Erpland. Plus my favourite 'sounding' production.

I'm pretty sure I voted for it as well, along with Erpland. It's always been my favourite at least of the early tape albums, and holds its own against the others pretty well too.

Happy Holidays. Wow can't believe that with over 1500 registered that we only have 33 people that cast their vote by now. Total Voters: 33 It's like a nuke went off in Erpland and these are the remaining survivors that must repopulate the universe.

I don't think the gaps between music are particularly large but I think many have pretty much said they find the lack of band communication to be a problem. And you're right, it is all up to the band if they want to let people know how things are going. As I said in another thread you only have to look at other musicians sites and forums to see how communicative other people are...even when they're not touring or recording they still find the time for some updates and chat. But I don't think any of that reflects on Mike's site really......I reckon we all appreciate it like mad and still find some stuff to talk about....most of the time anyway

For example neither Ed or Brandi has logged in to the forums since May and June of this year. So no communication means no new information for the site. Hopefully that means they are cranking out the mental jams on new material, but who knows. If you recall back, the band rarely ever *directly* communicated back to the fanbase. It was always done third party. Remember Simon "eddie" Baker ? and before that there were others that were actively promoting the band that had a vested interest. So in retrospect, this is not surprising given the lack of a manager like Simon.

You are right Mike, Simon Eddie was always keeping things going information wise. But back on the original Ozrics board and even on Rubbish Records board there was a lot of communication. A lot of that was down to members of the band at the time, Jon and Zia. Some people are probably just better at communicating than others, I can certainly understand that. Look at the eatstatic forum though. Apart from it being under construction at the moment there is hardly a day when Merv does not post there and I am sure he is just as busy gigging and creating music.
Would definitely be good for the band to at least give you some info as you provide such a good site for them

Ozric Tentacles its time for a publicity manager so that we fans are informed. What about a quarterly news letter. (just hoping)

Well some Merch that goes in the washer and emerges clean and intact would be a start. I thought these pop bands made more dosh from T shirt sales than from selling actual music anyway ?

Firstly, happy ZOlO to you all.
On the subject of merchadising, maybe Ed can package their next CD with a book, dolls of the band and nail clipping from Ed´s fingers - ala Lady Gaga - her latest special edition package includes loads of stuff including a "lock of her hair" - you may not like the music, but its impressive. Apparently its an effort to recoup money lost by evil downloading. So if Gaga is struggling, what hope the rest?

Packaged with a curry, a 6 pack, a bong and something to go in it.
There's no way ladyboy baba is struggling, (s)he was the best selling ear candy artist of last year.

Dolls of the band and nail clipping Matt? Are you suggesting we make voodoo dolls to enable us to take control of the band and direct them to the nearest internet cafe? Or something more sinister?

Something more sinister....i just read a short story called dreems.biz about a company selling dreams over the internet. In one dream, the dreamer becomes Stu Sutcliffe playing California in 1966 - 4 years after his death. When the dreamer awakes, he gets out the recording of the show and hears 3 guitars and a bass (listed as Stu Sutcliffe) with vocals sounding uncannily like his own voice....his next dream unfortunately puts him in the body of H.P. Lovecraft circa 1929, with a sinister winged behemoth watching from the tree outside...suffice to say, its not all rock fame when he awakes from this dream!

methinks people are not using all their votes, shouldn't total number of votes be 3x number of voters?
