Then I tell him Oh friday I saw the Ozric's Then he says Ahhhh the hippies!! he respects immensly their music. it was just really funny the way he said it. so cheers to all of you lucky to be seeing them this week-end 14th BRgds G.W.

I and my wife are going to both the All Good sets and maybe to the New York one--we have not decided on the latter, only if we feel like it after All Good.

welllll... what a show in NYC last night! a tighter, more inspired performance than in quebec city, with no technical problems, in a great new club with a superb sound system...
well worth the 7-hour drive (isn't any ozric gig?) each way, nice to see parts of manhattan once again.
one of the high points was seeing some old friends, and meeting some new ones who i've seen on these message boards... nice to see you roy, bill, and cerealfix!
absolutely wonderful to see you and your lovely wife again, ben... and had a lot of fun hanging out with you folks and ed after the gig, some very funny stories told there for sure!! drop suzy and me a line when you get a chance... our email addy is...
an.catdubh@verizon.net
lastly, thanks to ed, brandi and ollie for 2 great shows this summer... it's a good year when we get to see our favorite band in the world twice in a week... have a safe trip back home, and hope to see you again soon...
big love, joel and susan

Hey Sparky,
Was it pretty well the same set list as in Quebec, if no just wondering what were the different ones they played. Did they mention how long they hung around Quebec, or what they did between gigs. (Just curious) You got to hang out after the gig, sounds like you had a great time. wish I could have made it. also, did they mention if they think they would be coming back anytime soon, next summer maybe? After seeing them, I have really rekindled the love I have for their music, Been going through my collection all week. Re-listening, Re-enjoying, Remembering.

same set list (no surprise there, that's the way they do it) as quebec... i know they stayed in quebec for a day or so after the show, but no idea what happened between then and allgood on thursday.
after the show, the tantric obstetrician and curious unicorn hung out with suzy and ed and me mainly, and the conversation went all over, from electrical plugs to caves to upcoming gigs to "homeland security"... interesting stuff!
been listening to ozrics almost constantly lately too... you're not alone... friday's version of the new track and the throbbe were especially great, the throbbe was a slowed-down and heavy one with some interesting synth flourishes
i expect we'll see them again before too long, certainly next year if you want my guess. we've seen them every year for the last 4 years, and that'll continue i bet.

oh yes, thought i should tell you all what the Village Voice had to say about the Ozrics coming to NYC...
"For more than 23 years, these jam band progenitors have been lathering eager Erp-heads with their psych-laced prog rock, mostly under the radar of the mainstream. Expect a multimedia spectacle befitting their ambient keyboard-fueled, fusion-guitar spiked, electro-funky, Middle Eastern hoedowns"
i thought this was really quite funny...

^ Ha, Welcome to the club, at least we have about 30 albums to enjoy between then. I just got my TFTFAway, so its kinda new for me, even though its a year old.

TFTFA is an amazing CD, I've been playing it over and over lately... some tracks took awhile to grow on me, but now I realize it's my fave since Waterfall Cities.
Turn it up really loud, and let it wash over you...

I'd say best since Curious Corn! Especially if you play Spacebass first (recommend running order 5-9 then 1-4). Hidden Step and Spirals have some stonking tracks but as a whole, this is the best album in a long time.

No Sparks, it's Chris A here. Had to change my name for this board. For some reason I had a bit of difficulty logging in. But now there's no stopping me. Ooh ha ha ha ha !! (evil laugh in the manner of Emporor Ming)

Hello fella, doin' fine thank you. Very interested in your gig reviews. Sounds like a revitalised group! I'm looking forward to seeing the OTs in October, Nottingham UK. The current setlist seems to include a fair amount of newer stuff, let's hope that Merv and Joie are up for the new songs! Whatever, looking forward to seeing the return of the Eat Static duo. Take care, Chris

For me,I guess that is one of the things that makes going to see them so "strange".Its kinda like a reward or something like that! One time I drove to the gig, only to find they had trouble with the tour bus ,then my car broke down as well.Had to bum a ride home & carry on.Another time,I could not take that day off from work,so I stayed awake, got tickets at the last second.Payed for a friend to drive me,who wasnt into Ozrics even, until after the show that is!Took a nap on the way.Drank expresso next door as The Star People opened lol.Let me tell You about how it was the most kick arse performance I or my friend had ever seen. The sound quality was amazing.Only to be denied a oncore, because some jerk stold John's flute off the stage & he was rightfully pissed,as was I.One time I was unemployed&broke when I found out about the show& sold a bass guitar & a multitrack recorder to go see them in Cleveland.Asked a girl I liked to go.Turned out to be one of the best nights of my life!Another time I went to see them in Clevland,I wobbled on bald tires in a rat car!Again, asked a girl to go,& it was one of the best nights ever! The last time I seen them,I was in a rental car, cause I got smashed 3 days before the show.I was in a lot of pain at the time(whiplash)But the shrooms&guiness helped.I remember some drunk idiots getting on the stage& messing up the jbl monitors.Leave it up to Detroit!I consider going to see them play an adventure. Its allways somewhere I have never been.I usually have to make some sacrifice, but in the end well worth the trip,no matter where the venue is:)

Yo Sparky, With all that snow you are receiving you could sculptor your own Ozrics band and play their tunes whilst you watch them. There you glo, your personal live gig in your own backyard… I think you could have a four day gig before the melt down? ;D Peace and Keep Zee Faith
