Wakarusa! That means I will finally get to live my dream of seeing this band live! Neat! ;D
I will, however, still lobby for a gig in Austin.

I was at the All Good the last time OZ played. Late night, LOTS of real fog! It was a night that is burned into my brain. This is a GREAT place run by GREAT people and I would recommend seeing them here highly. In fact this should be a don't miss show. Seeing them outside at a festival is the ONLY way to go. I've seen them a half dozen times and this is by far the best venue for them. SPLOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I just found this thread, so anyone reading my post on the thread for introducing oneself can ignore answering my question about where the OT are playing in the USA.
I will probably be going to wherever they come closest to Nashville.

About these two enties from above:
7/12/07 Masontown, WV All Good Festival playing on Thursday Nignt for Early Arrival Performance 5/19/07 Whittier, CA Calprog 2007 with the Rudess Morgenstein Project
In some places, I have seen the OT All Good listing as not only Thursday 7/12 but also Friday 7/13 with it. Will the OT be playing Friday as well as Thursday?
Also, should the Whittier listing read 7/19/07 instead of 5/19/07?

I believe.. that Whittier ia a MagnaCarta Typo... look right below it on the listing for Jordaon Rudess 5/19/07 Whittier, CA Calprog 2007 with the RUDESS Morgenstein Project... I dislike this stealth OT UStour stuff (every year it seems) doesn't it seem like Ozrics will be in the us for a month.. where are all the dates in between?!? Please know us rural folks would likely have to additionally plan a vacation just to get to see our faves! ... I have for many years and plan to continue.. so make with all the us dates already... or at least tell us that it is just those 2 festies or nothing for us yanks. Ozrics rule!

where did you see the Allgood listing for 2 nights ? I wish that were true.

I do agree with the one poster that indicated that the tour dates always seem to be a stealth matter. With the festival dates in place (except still trying to see if they are playing 2 nights at allgood) - we should be seeing some other dates fill in soon. There is no way they are just playing those fests and no clubs. My guess is we should see some dates in Baltimore, Virgina, Philly, and around the east just before and after the allgood. With Wakarusa - similar dates in the midwest and points beyond should begin to appear. The tours all seem to be kept so secret at times, no wonder only 50 to 100 people still show to see them at clubs (this happens far to often for a band with 20 plus years behind them). More room me I guess.

ok I had given up hope of seeing them in Canada,
Well JULY 6-07 FESTIVAL D'ETE QUEBEC CITY, CANADA
Has Spocks Beard as an opener then OZRIC TENTACLES
yes folks
I was totaly into this Band, all the us tours since 95, they never came to Canada. I had given up hope, and after all the changes with the band, and the more recent depature of John. Didnt think it would ever happen.
I live in Quebec city, maybe I'll have a pre-Gig party or somthing.
I enjoyed everything from Sliding Gliding Worlds, up to Pong Masters Ball, I have everything in between those two discs then I kinda disconnected. was following Porcupine Tree a bit more recently
Well even with the changes to the band I dont care, I am back Full force now.
So I'll be hanging around this Site and Board for a while now.
Is Mike Werner still around here anywere?
BRgds Gordon Wilson

I hope I wasnt out a line by announcing that, but they are on the official program. and that is only 5 weeks from now, So I will add a bit of info here. The festival is in the downtown, there are three stages spread around different areas of the city. all within walking distance. SB & OT are to be on the same stage, says starting at 1900 hrs. can fit about 4-5000 people in the park. It has a gentle sloping hill so now matter where you are if is still fine. However it has happened on occasion that during some good gigs like this one that if you show up at lets say 1900 hrs, it could be full, it is rare but it can happen depending on the day, weather, ect. They sell beer on site and when the concert is over you are right in the area of lots of bars & clubs. So the fun goes on. Bars close 0300 but you can order 2 or 3 drinks and stay till 0400. You can check out the festival site www.infofestival.comit does not work well with firefox however. its from July-5 - 15th. There are also may other interesting bands here during that time, the 6th is a friday OT day so could be a good week-end trip for some of you. its a very relaxed atmosphere and as long as you are ok, cool, chilled whatever, there are no problems at all.

you can't buy them ahead of time, you have to wait until you get to the city right?

I am not sure, They have a certain amount pre-sale for 20.00 until those run out. but there is always more and those dont run out, but yeah they are 30.00. they put them up a bit this year. They sell them all over the place, or even at the gig. its good for the whole 10 days, so when you leave you can just re-sell it easily for 20.00 or keep it as a souvenir

. . . . . . . . . .hmmm . . . . . . . sorry . . . we tried really hard, . . . I pulled every string I could with the guys in the visa office and no joy, there was a 15 day back up and the office was slammed, . . . this came on top of serious scheduling issues, the whole tour got mashed about, we were meant to start in California, and things just got . . . well unworkable really . . . we're doing our best to keep the July dates afloat, but if you want the DL, (and lets keep it there) I bloody hope our agents are going to make these July dates make sense, cause June really . . . didn't . . come together very well, and it's left me pretty upset about it all . . . I probably shouldn't be saying any of this at all because I love my agents they're wonderful people . . . but I just hope this tour starts to take form this week . . . cause right now the costs still aren't adding up, I'll keep my fingers crossed . . . in hopes of brilliant tour on the horizon, as WE REALLY WANT TO PLAY AMERICA!!!, . . WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO BIG AND COST SO MUCH TO GET THERE ?!?!?!? . . . AND WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE WORK VISAS ANYWAY, IT'S JUST ONE PLANET, IMMAGRATION IS NOT A CRIME !!!

just continue playing the best music ever we will try our damdest to see you every chance we can Best band ever... Big love always at what does gets done your way ...no matter what else the ozric catalog of work has to be some kind of a record or something for most persistent space rock ever... jus keep on keepin on and maybe someday the higher ups will resonate a little higher up in their consciousness and speed worthy types like you all on through. I think of it as a lot of people are depending on you all to help them stay sane over here so they should realize that it is a healthmusic-oriented priority to get you over here 2rescue the scene Maybe we could get some more verification before we try and travel for allgood and/or quebec from Florida and only because you are the best band ever I will settle for "maybe we could" if I must... PS can anyone elaborate on 'These July dates'?... sounds like there are more ready to come from out of the thin air to land in some clubs over here as well? ? yes? Throw us a snack with all this gruel and strife wot's been comin' down our throats..And Rulez said No All Caps are allowed... You Have to Have a Special Visa for those as well, you see. We appreciate everything ozrics ever done to try n share their gifts!

Whoops, my bad I missed the earlier threads. I guess I got my answer. That's too bad, I haven't heard them live yet, and was really excited to see them on the bill. ---------------------
Did Ozric Tentacles really play at Wakarusa? I went, and didn't even know they were playing until I got an updated band list. I don't know what happend, but they were not at the stage they were supposed to be at the time.
Does anyone know if they played it or not? I was bummed as were a few of us wondering if they were cancelled or not. No Wakarusa staff was available at the late time they were supposed to play.

I'm just curious how long it was known that you guys couldn't come to Wakarusa? Seriously, my friends and I had been looking forward to seeing the Ozrics at our favorite music festival since we heard about it half a year ago. Just about everyday there was at least one comment from one of us about how awesome it would be to see the Ozrics at Wakarusa (as opposed to some tiny show in chicago where the only ones dancing are me and my friends). It was pretty heartbreaking to find out Friday EVENING that the show we were totally excited for wasn't happening. I talked to some people at the stage you should've been at...some people flew or drove really far just to see the Ozrics in this environment. They got a decent band to play on Friday in that slot, but on Saturday they just got some shitty DJ. PLEASE tell me you guys will somehow make this up. Do a HUGE tour in the US. Play more festivals! There's another festival in Kansas next month called Dogstock, if you played there it would totally make up for what happened at Wakarusa. It just baffles me to see all of these "livetronica" bands getting huge around here, when they're just doing a lesser version of what the Ozrics have done since the 80s. I thought this was gonna be the show where you guys would finally get some recognition in the US jam band scene. I was totally ready for you guys to turn that Revival Tent in to the ultimate psychedelic playground.
