Friend of mine who's a massive Prince fan just e-mailed me this:
"Anyway, I have just found out that Prince wrote both 'Oddentity' and 'Oolite Grove and Citadel Jam' with the Ozrics. Did you know that? That guy works with everyone... "
Anyone know if this is correct or not?

Erm, I think that's a definite case of wires getting crossed! The 'Prince' that is credited on those tracks is Conrad Prince, otherwise known as Rad (Ozrics drummer).

mindflux is a big prince and ozrics fan . both ozrics and prince are wonderful musicians ,
what would the new ozrics album be like if prince recorded a tune with them ? thats a good project to work on , shall we do it our selves !

LOL! The Rad explanation sounds a lot more plausible My friend will be most disappointed!

The Rad explanation is totally correct, but that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the funniest things I have ever read!!! Much needed amusment given the 5 days I've just had....
Given some of the psychedelic jams I've heard/seen Prince perform and his fusion of many styles, particularly jazz, I think it would be an interesting combination if Ozrics and Prince played together - but not one that would ever happen unfortunately. That reminds me - off to see Prince in 2 weeks time (and I'm going to 5 of the 21 nights plus an aftershow - woo-woo!)

I saw Prince play a few years ago, and he's astounding live. Highly recommended even if you wouldn't normally listen to his records. He and his band played "Nothing Compares 2 U" and it had me in floods of tears.

He is one of those "must-see" artists - there, quite simply, has been no-one to touch him as a live artist since the early 80s and that it still true today. The sort of stage-presence that James Brown had, with the tight and musical band leadership of Frank Zappa and the skills of a multitude of the best artists on whatever instrument he chooses to play.
If you can get tickets to this run of gigs, just do it - you will not be disappointed.
Greg - if that was a few years ago, are you talking One Nite Alone at the Hammersmith Apollo? 3 hours of jazz-tinged lushness but with one of the highlights being the most rocking, psychedelic interpretations of the Led Zep behemoth "Whole Lotta Love"? Just jaw-dropping!

Saw my friend again yesterday and he showed me the source of the confusion - those tracks are indeed listed under Prince's discography on allmusic.com! Someone needs to let them know
