the first ones were not yellow, they were normal cassettes with a typed little white label on them, the yellow ones with the erpman on them followed later as far as I remember. As for the tracklisting, hmmmm, will have to check mine out at the weekend.

tis correct, the originals were black with a little white oblong label, rounded at the edges, on them. They were typed on. This is loooooooong before the box set and the pongmaster printed ones. Also for any buffs out there, there were two different erpsongs cassettes released. The first had a live Here n Now cover on then that was changed to a live jam thus making all tracks 'originals'. I have both still.

Ahh right... Cheers guys for the info regarding the tapes.
I asked if the yellow ones were original, purely because the yellow just seemed a bit, ya know....whatever.
But now, being black and white, and typed too, seems much more apt.

My original Erpsongs cassette has still got a snipped off bit of cigarette filter in it under the tape (emergency operation) because that little bit of metal strip with a bit of felt on it fell out at some point. I think somewhere around the 14000th play!

Nice one - and not many of them around I bet!
Hey Space, just a quickie. I was listening to the demo track WE ARE ALWAYS HERE yesterday, and I was wondering if that was John on the flute?
I know that could sound pretty obvious, as in John on the flute, but I am not sure when these old demo songs were actually recorded, bearing in mind John's first album with them was in 1988. I thought maybe (some) of these demos were much earlier?
(And is that not Flute on 'O-I' from THERE IS NOTHING (86)?
Slightly confoosed... Cheers. Canny.

Hi Water...nice to hear from you.
Tis true, not been on here for a while, but always have a bog in now and again. There's so much to learn on here and I'm always up for that.
Thalassa is one of Neptune's moons, and it's a funny bugger too (me included I guess...Ha!)
Can't make Margate but looking at the Swindon one. I spoke only last week to the guy at THE BROOK in Southampton regarding the Ozrics and he said he would not be surprised if they were not there this year. But I guess that's just business mumbo perhaps?
You going to Margate?

Hey Vin, it's just dawned on me....
I have just emailed you. Hope it makes sense!
Do you recall the guy and girl who chatted with you upstairs after the gig at THE BROOK in Southampton last September?

Yeah, i'm going Margate, been on and on about it for ages, it seems on here, can't wait. Thalassa man, i thought that was some backwater place in the states somewhere, you know one of those places in the middle of the desert where everyone calls each other boy. How friggin far away was i, whats a few light years hey.
And Spacey...Kola B pep maybe.....pretty please.

Dunno about a few light years, but quite a way eh!

I have just got hold of ERPSONGS, LIVE ETHEREAL CEREAL & THE BITS BETWEEN THE BITS on original cassette (and this time, NOT the yellow ones, as I first thought might have been original).
It was cool to learn from Philly and Vin that the originals had a typed little white label on them and rounded at the edges. How bizarre was it to see these three appear on eBay so soon after...
There is certainly no track listing on my ERPSONGS tape, which seems a little odd at any stage of a bands career, but especially on their first album?
Really chuffed with these tapes though.

Hey Vinny, Yes - I've got that original Erpsongs as well - the Here & Now song is Surgeons Knife, wish they had put that version onthe Erpsongs CD. Here is the original Erpsongs cover :

COBBER...
So, the original ERPSONGS cassette was with a white cover (not red, or has the image just come out white?) and with info inside that circle, bottom right of your picture?
(Mine is a red cover with an empty circle see..)

Hi Sabbra - yes it was white. Got mine and Tantric Obstacles tape from Jane Oroonie at Rainbow Fayre Earlham Park Norwich in July 1986. By phoning the number on the circles Ed would send out more wibblings on tape - hence all the unreleased stuff floating around.

Hi Cobber.
How cool was that! These tapes of yours are truly original then!
So, is the Tantric Obstacles cover white too? If so, I presume all the first 6 tapes were white?
I'm imagining you have quite a collection of Oz gear at home?
Many thanks for info.
Steve.
