Good tune on a first listen. I don't remember having heard anything like what happens around the 15th min before. Nice surprise.

I don't know if they can incorporate more styles in their sound, so hearing sounds that are less common is the most I can expect from them this far into their career. Stuff like what they did in Plowm! for example, around 50 sec in, those bass sounds.
The rest of the new track is nothing out of the ordinary, though very pleasant.

That wasn't so much a general comment about samey-ness, it was more a reference to you saying "I don't remember having heard anything like what happens around the 15th minute before...".
I think it just shows we all hear different things really, which is fine! Ed doesn't have to prove himself by doing anything new, although I did find Shimmer into Nature fresher and more engaging.
