Sounds better with each listen. Third one is the most enjoyable so far, loudest too Popscape is really cool, loving the weirdness Grower again it seems. Not surprising for me, it's been the same since Waterfall Cities, if not Curious Corn.

The drum programming is insanely good! They have reached some new territory with their sonics, which is a nice welcome, along with some of their classic sounds. The recording has a clarity that is not easy to get unless you put some serious time and effort in. I like it a lot!

Totally love it!
Their synth sounds are just so far ahead of anything else I've heard, but still a kick-ass rock band when the music needs it

I'm loving this album. Definitely my favorite since The Floor's Too Far Away. Ed picked the right people to collaborate with

Agree with Yiannis, on my 3rd listen and it all comes together. Drums (programming) are amazing. Humboldt mind blowing.
I remember Steven Wilson (and probably others) deriding the band back in the mid-90s for always sounding the same. With this album and the last I was starting to get that feeling (only because I consume immense amounts of various genres). However, 3rd listen and it is truly an unique piece. 10/10.

The weirdest thing is, I've listened to it stoned once and it was the least enjoyable listen, along with the first one.

I love Steven Wilson and he has something of a point but his latest single is just plain bad.
I'll reserve comment on the new OT album until I hear it properly - vinyl on its way - but so far I prefer Shimmer.

It's less immediately graspable than most Ozrics and related albums for me.

Anyone got the 3D effect with the cover? Admittedly, mostly when I'm stoned I get it when I see it under the right light, but I can see it sober if I focus hard. The thing in the middle is a transparent 3D ball and some of the energy around it, especially on the left, seems layered too.
