Over the years I've managed to find quite a few unofficial Ozric tapes, Suffering Segments and the like. There's a mention of a tape with the title of this thread on the band's Discogs page. Does anyone here have it or is aware of its existence? And maybe, taking this opportunity, does anyone believe they have all this material and can list it here for reference?
Thanks

Nevermind, got the one I was talking about, the correct title is Jazzericy Vibricules. There are so many unreleased compilations I wasn't aware of. When I get them all (or all I'm aware of) I'll list them here.

Thanks for this Yiannis. I realise I don't have this one. I assume its stuff that appears on Unreleased?

Some of them yes. I don't think all of them do. If you can get a connection you can get it on Soulseek. Cobberjigger and The Bee also have them.

I noted they did a cover of the intro to Caravan's Winter Wine (Jazzricey Track 117), nice!

Hey everyone.....It has been a long time, since I've been on here. I used to have most of these goodies in flac format, but the external drive I have them stored on, took a dump....now I'm trying to replace everything. I've managed to find about 30% of what's listed here. If I can get some help finishing this collection, I'd really appreciate it. I'm on soulseek as backroads66
Thanks!

Oblivious Equilibrium is a mix of released tracks from the official albums so I'm not sure it qualifies for inclusion.

All available on CDs that many fans will already have.

Naturally, with these items having been traded in various formats over the years, the lineage can become distorted, and derivative works appear. That was most apparent when the so-called Rare & Unreleased Tracks set appeared on the Bandcamp page in late 2006 as 79 tracks, all but two of them available in flac format. That release in particular, and the Bandcamp page in general were entirely unofficial, or so I'm told. The files in question were all derived from Nazerman's 2002 transfer to VBR mp3 using Lame 3.87 beta. That copy was meant to be an upgrade to the 5-disc 128 kbps mp3 set he had released on Napster some years earlier, but was not de-hissed like the original file set. The VBR mp3s still circulate as 5 discs under the title Unreleased Tracks or Ozrics Unreleased. That is the definitive version and all others with the same track names are based on it or its predecessor and are likewise of lossy origin. Two others of similar lineage are noteworthy. One circulates as Ed's Bits, and is derived from Nazerman's 2-disc Ed's Bits And Unreleased (Lame 3.87b at 128/44/Stereo), but there is another called Ed's Bits & Unreleased in circulation as flac files that may actually be an attempt by someone else to reconstruct the original from their own tapes. The tracks are cut differently and MPEG tests are inconclusive. The other item falling into this category is found in several versions and subsets, 1984 Practices, Practice Sessions, etc., all derived from Practise 1 and Practise 2 (Lame 3.87b at VBR/44/Stereo). Nazerman has included notes with the originals cautioning against tampered copies, but unfortunately they still circulate. Now for the good news.... Jazzericy Vibricules is a fairly unique compilation, with lots of bits and pieces interspersed among a handful of more or less complete songs. Aside from thematic connotations, the title is appropriate from a stylistic standpoint as well. Other notes from the 2-disc set (20 and 22 tracks, respectively) are as follows. Any additions, corrections or clarifications are appreciated. - Track 102 is an extended early version of "Airy Area", which appeared on There Is Nothing (1986).
- Track 107 is the same as "The City Made From Sound" from the Unreleased Tracks collection.
- Track 109 was released as "Moon Pennies" on Dats & Reels Vol 1 (2011).
- Track 116 is the same as "Intro Burp" from the Unreleased Tracks collection, and was released as the intro to "Snirkadoo" on Early Daze Vol. 2 (2011).
- Track 117 is a short acoustic guitar piece based on the intro to "Winter Wine", which appeared on Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink (1971).
---> Thanks for the tip, Yogbarogger! - Track 120 was released as "The East From The Air" on Dats & Reels Vol 1 (2011).
- Track 207 was released as "Happy Milkman" on Dats & Reels Vol 1 (2011).
- Track 209 is an early version of "Ullular Gate", which appeared on Tantric Obstacles (1985).
Some of these tracks may also appear on one or two of the other sets. For instance, the 4-disc Bolshem People set (which is more like 2 discs if you remove all the duplicated material) shares 8 tracks with Jazzericy Vibricules, including the 2 demos.

Does anyone have Gilbert Chunks or Oblivious Equilibrium in flac? You already have Gilbert Chunks in flac under the title Ed's Tracks. 16 of the 17 tracks on the first disc comprise Gilbert Chunks. The source transfer is identical, as is the track ordering. It appears that Gilbert Chunks may indeed be the derivative in this case, although that is far from certain. There's a note with Gilbert Chunks saying it's from a tape given to Kirk by Ed, but that is the only clue we have as to its origin. No doubt a lot of these tapes passed through Kirk in some capacity, but without first hand details, we can only guess which those are and how they came into circulation.

Hi Ohr Ganjalf, certainly am! Hope you are well too.
I believe Soulseek works at least until 10.14 (what I am currently).
Not much activity in the ozric forum or on Soulseek these days - I guess facebook is where the fun is (don't use that anymore).
You can message me on Soulseek when you get it on your Mac.
