Anyone have any cool psychedelic stories they want to share or if Ozric Tentacles assisted you in tripping? Just want to know because Ozric Tentacles sorta introduced me to the expanded world of mind altering compounds, amazing what music can do right....

"Expanded world". What a load of rubbish.

"Expanded world". What a load of rubbish. I take it you can now tell what happens in other people's minds then? It might be time to get off your self righteous throne and consider the possibility that some things are beyond your limited brain capacity. And, no, you don't need to take psychedelics in order to respect other people's opinions, especially if you have no clue what they're talking about. If you don't like it that people like to alter their state of mind, tough. You can always just go.

I've only been to one Ozrics gig tripping and it's rather unlikely it'll ever happen again. I was at the beginning of the come down, so I was aware of what was going on, which was great. No visuals, but a very much enhanced psychedelic aural effect. Loved every minute. I remember two things in particular: I was sitting upstairs at the Mean Fiddler and at one point I closed my eyes. When I opened them I could see the band from what felt like a point a bit higher than my eyes were and slightly more sort of in front of me, so the whole perspective was a bit more vertical. The other thing was that brief pause at the climax of Erpland, which was just being introduced - I'd seen a couple of other performances when it wasn't done. That sent me up there. Getting back home on my own (the people I was with each went to different areas of London) was a saga, too. Having said all that, I wouldn't say it was my favourite Ozrics gig, although it was great in its own right.
I've seen them more or less sober once or twice, but unfortunately I didn't like either performance, and it wasn't because I was sober either - Nodens Ictus blew them away both times.
Nowadays, and provided they come here again, a couple of spliffs and a bit of tsipouro (anise-based drink) will be enough to give that extra push.

That sounds like an amazing experience yiannis, I usually don't do psychedelics at live shows just because the amount of people can be overwhelming at times, but one notable experience I had was with Salvinorin A, the compound found in Salvia Divinorum. I put on my favorite Ozric album Swirly Termination and I took a nice size toke and just as I exhaled the song "Steep" began to play and it created this beautiful picture of unseen worlds and mental adventures I never knew I could attain. I was always into meditation and yoga, but psychedelics really push the pedal to the metal if you want very lucid visions. The experienced helped me facilitate a new appreciation for the mind and music, and thus started my love for psychedelic music and more in-depth spiritual research. It also sparked my interest in using psychedelics as a form of helping me to be more creative, especially in the fields of music and art. Salvia trips usually don't last very long ( usually 8min for me), I was just experiencing this feeling of my head rolling off and having very intense, "organic" visuals and as the trip died down a little, it just happened to end somewhere near the intense buildup on the song "Space Out" and once that buildup hit... I was just grooving through mental hyperspace with the flow of the music, such an amazing and beautiful, and simply life changing experience for me.

Well, no I have not. But perhaps, if my cosmic rubric's cube was all in order at the time. On the lookout for a Seattle visit in the meantime to test that theory!
