"Ozrics are currently putting the finishing touches on their new double studio album, it will be their first double since the classic “Erpland” over 20 years ago. “Even after all this time, we’ve never been so excited or pleased with an album”, says Ed smiling, as usual. “We just can’t wait for people to hear this one. If (hypothetically), for any reason we would not able to make another album after this, we would be content in knowing we have had the opportunity to bring this particular musical journey to everyone.” Just prior to the release of their epic 90+ minute offering, the band will complete their 2014 tour dates through UK and Europe, where fans will get their first taste of tracks from the new album. Ozrics are currently on tour with special guest artist Natan Lenski, aka “MantisMash”. Natan has recently become a permanent member of Ozric Tentacles’ live electronic project “Nodens Ictus”. The Europe tour starts October 1st in the EU, and will also feature a few very special performances by Nodens Ictus along the way. If you are a fan of Ozrics and electronic music, then these performances come highly recommended!" Found it here

That is exciting news. 90+ minutes is a long double too, well compared to Erpland anyway.
Odd there is nothing on the website or here yet.
Here's hoping it features a lot of Balazs on it.

Agree about the new album, but MantisMash in Nodens? Really weird. Is he in the Ozrics too? If you look at the photo in the article he's there too. Hope I get to at least listen to some Nodens with him in, though a YouTube clip would be very interesting too.

on a side note , what constitutes a double album these days , I imagine 2 discs of at least 60 minutes so 120 in total....? That would be awesome !!

I wonder it it would contain material from scrapped pre-Paper Monkeys sessions. If I remember it well, Brandi posted here they have the whole album already written but instead recorded only new things in the studio. The Paper Monkeys studio jam could be used as well. Anyway, great news!

I wonder it it would contain material from scrapped pre-Paper Monkeys sessions. I thought the exact same thing when I read the article. It would make sense - provided it wasn't engulfed in flames.

A new album and tour with at least one dutch gig, but not over the Easter weekend as that's when Hawkeaster is, would be excellent news.

According to herrenloses damenfahrrad's (you bet I copy-pasted that) Erpsongs vinyl heads up the release date has now been pushed to the summer. Bummer. It'd be nice if we could have an update from someone in the band about release and tour dates.

I, for one, don't mind the wait, it's probably the only album I am really looking forward to this year. That, and another myriad of Ishq recordings, there's two new albums already out in 2015!

yannis, where did you get it that the release has been pushed to summer ? Copying the first paragraph of the press release: "To coincide with the band's new studio album due for release in Summer 2015, Madfish is giving the 6 albums from the 2014 Vitamin Enhanced CD box set their first vinyl release beginning with Erpsongs."

Ishq recordings, there's two new albums already out in 2015! Yes I do like Autumn Lights. I read somewhere -it might have been something around the release of Sunflower- that he wants to do more "kinetic" music, which is what I like best, albums like Sama or And Awake. I'd love a new Ishvara release too, if it ever happens.

How weird, a normal sounding title.

Maybe weirdness became normality ? It´s like Hobbes teaching Calvin to ride a bicycle and you get something to hear like "...you´ll let go and the bike will launch me into ionosphere!" because he´s sitting on "Calvin´s Killer Bike" :-D

How weird, a normal sounding title. I don't know that I would say 'normal' exactly, but I suppose if you compare it with some of the other album titles you might have a point.
