I think a full cd of covers is possible. There are enough active musos on here to contribute. Obviously a cd of originals is more possible but i honestly think a covers cd is possible too.

We Ob-Testers have a few covers (about 7/8 tracks)...the sound is a little poor (rehearsal recorded on minidisc) but if that helps Members on this board have the .wav versions (Philly, Sparky, JohanSkomm and a few others...) and they are all accessible via SLSK (my name: barbibouc) Anyway, it's a great idea !

I think a 2 disc thing would be great Dan with 1 disc Pure covers (albeit in whatever mutated form) and 1 disc original compositions inspired by Ozrics... I like that idea. Maybe we should do a poll on this?

From experience it will hard to get a full CD of covers, but I'd like to be proved wrong. I well remember Nick. Of course it would up the odds a little if you'd consider contributing... So far, tentatively or otherwise we have: Etherealise Orpheus Garlicmick Jpeg/Ob-testers Damien Gracerooms I think SciFi Steve is also up for it. We're getting there...

Gracerooms said he'd have a crack at an Ozrics tune too Dan (hope you don't mind me repeating that Greg). Loads of variety of people already
I hear Philly does a mean rectal version of tentacles of erpmind too!

Among the tunes I attempted covering for the last Erpitaph cd was 'Wob Glass' - I'll see if I've still got my cubase file kicking around.

Most definitely Philly.
I think my cover will be 'Synth on a Plinth' as I've just nailed the sequence (I think)

Dusty Pouch and Fetch me the Pongmaster are on the cards for me. You can take your pick which one you like the best Dan As for original stuff, I have a fair few but all in mp3 which is a shame as there is one track I would 100 percent want to contribute

Count me in for at least one of :
- Erpriff (Live Ethereal Cereal version)
- Space Between Your Ears
Wahey! I'm on a creative buzz already and I haven't recorded a single note yet

That sucks. Is converting back to wav an option?

Ok Synth on a Plinth isn't really going anywhere so I'm onto tune #3 and this time it's for definite - I'm covering 'Tidal Otherness.' I say that and not 'Erpsongs' because I'm kind of starting from scratch with layering over the basic sequence rather than trying to emulate the already excellent treatment that idea got on Underslunky. Got an idea for an Ozricy original too if there's room...

I've never kept any of the original wav's Dan as anything I recorded was purely for my own enjoyment. And as I listen to stuff mainly on my mp3 player it all gets converted.
Well, I just found a converter that changes mp3 files to wav so I can at least do so with one of my original tunes. I'm still doing a new pongmaster though

How are everyone's tunes coming along? Listening back to one of the earlier cd's your atmosphear was great Dan, I look forward to hearing your tidal otherness. I'm drum and guitared up Pongmaster wise. Synthage next with some top end sparking to be figured out as well

I haven't actually done much with Tidal yet, other than working out the main sequence so it's just playing around with ideas to see what happens! Pongmaster is a good choice. I seem to remember it has one of those nice basslines that continues through different key changes. Like the sound of 'Top end sparking'...

I did a version of pongmaster when I first got my current multitrack but was too lazy/unfamiliar with the drum machine to program it as 3 bars of 8/8 and a bar 0f 7/8 so had it in 4/4 the whole way through. I have done it properly this time which of course requires so much more concentration when playing parts over the drums.

Don't know how exacting you all will be when it comes to the term 'cover song', but Vibrant Flux has what turned out to be a nice little dub of them playing around with Chickendon at soundcheck... VF took some 'liberties' with the number but it is still 'recognizable'.... no overshadowing of the original whatsoever, sorta stamped with the 'VF' sound. Don't want to infringe on any rites though... if there is a 'permissive atmosphere' for this cover cd then where can we easily mail or serve the original wav to, to get this track under consideration for the project?
