I'm not going near the first question (sorry jointy70, but there's been so much controversy about this in the past, I don't want to dig it all up again) but I as for the present, Jon is now in Dream Machine, more info here: www.dreammachineonline.co.uk/The lineup has also featured other ex-Ozrics Rad and Seaweed at various times, and according to the website Joie Hinton is listed as a member, not sure how he manages to be in so many bands at once though!

Dream Machine has also featured Metro and Gavin Griffiths(guest). Jon also does his own project/s including Champignon & Friends. He is also known to frequent the Dream Machine Online forum from time to time. There will be a new album from Dream Machine (er) soon!!! for now the first album has sold out although it's possible a re-release with 'bonus' offering/s may be forthcoming. the only available material at the moment is the Live @ Bush Hall Trilogia album release party DVD. Joie is indeed a member of the band, but obviously with his MANY other band commitments sometimes he cannot make all the gigs.
oh and btw I WILL be updating the website pretty soon I promise!!!

Its a valid question though because when he was in the band, he was so integral to it, his flute playing definitely added to the songs that it appeared on and to be a member of the band so long to just knock it on the head. Being into a band thats not commonly in the papers or music press as such, this website is my sole info on a band who's every album I've collected and listened to death and still listening to, the odd DVD that i have is cherished, some of us only know what we hear on here. I would like to know why he left, not out of nosey-ness but just out of my general interest and love for the band. For instance, take the last album, Floors too far away, all agreed, a good solid album, may not be their best they've brought out, but it still stands up well and warrants repeated listening and definitely better than some of the albums the critics have gone GA GA about like In Rainbows by Radiohead, Kaiser Chiefs who i can't stand, the usual old bland sh*t thats is lorded by radio stations. But one thing that could of made, floors too far away even better for me would of been some of john's flute playing on it, not on every track, but maybe a couple as it does add to the ambiance of the music i feel. John was intrical when he was in the band and i would like to see flute player back in the band, maybe just a session musician just to get some of that old sound back on the albums. So if it looks as though John's never gonna come back, i would like to know why, coz i wont find out anywhere else and i did enjoy his flute playing when he was in it. Gutted to hear, by reading between the lines that there may have been a falling out.

There was a 'falling out' which got a bit heated on the 'ole Rubbish Records message board. Many things where said, but in the end it was like a divorce, Jon left home. Shit happens. I believe the two parties have met since and hatchets have been buried. It would be great if Jon could 'guest' on a future project, time is a great healer.

Just to confirm what has been said above, Jon's current projects are; Champignon - a core 3-piece band (Jon - flutes, vocals, guitar - Alex Pym - guitar - Mindflux - percussion, synths, bass) with occasional guests. Playing an eclectic mix of Indian/Turkish/Irish folk music with plenty of humour thrown in! Dream Machine - a 6 piece band (Gabriele, bass - Alex Pym, guitar - Julian Adomail, keys and synth - Jon, flutes - Mindflux, percussion, synth - Steve Cassidy, drums) playing a fusion of psychedelic space-rock, funk and some middle-Eastern influence. www.myspace.com/dreammachinespacerock Zubzub - ex-Ozric bass player Zia's wonderful creation. A 4-piece featuring Zia, writing, production, programming, synths - Mindflux, co-writing and production, synths and percussion - Jon, flutes - Alex Pym, guitar. Zubzub plays ethereal dance music stetching over many genres including psytrance, drum'n'bass, techno, dub and blissed out electronica. Think a cross between Ozrics and Eat Static, but with its own distinct flavour. www.myspace.com/zubmusic Both Seaweed and Joie Hinton have guested with Dream Machine and zubzub in the past, but its impossible to say if this will happen in the future. Seaweed can also be heard on zubzub's album Malicious Code. All of these bands play out live regularly, particularly at festivals, so there's plenty of opportunity to catch them. Hope that helps some folks :-)

.....in the south of England. No use to me! Mind you, Senser are the same. And, I suspect, for similar good financial reasons. Bah!
Oh well, happy new year, you hippies! :-)
