So, does anyone else but me reckon that Ed would make an excellent Dr Who? I know the Chief Erp has only ever been seen on video either with instruments or setting up / breaking down live setups , but he looks quite reminiscent of Tom Baker, and that seems to be how they usually cast for this part... lol

Dunno about acting, but i'd love to see what Ed could do with the theme tune, man, that would be interesting....

I'd love to see what Ed and Co. could come up with. I seem to remember reading that Ed had done some work for the BBC back in the 90's, writing music to accompany history documentaries. Does anyone recall which show it was exactly?

i saw that the other day - about egypt - really dug the soundage for that - all the chilled out, low tempo, sparse instrumentation ozrics that we rarely get much of any more there - found it::

Nice idea. Pity about the show these days though. I don't want to get too nostalgic about some of the not-so-special effects of the vintage show, but the modern incarnation seems to lack the atmosphere and uniqueness it had in the 70's during the Pertwee/Baker eras. I just can't get into it, much as I like Peter Capaldi.
I thought Primeval was better, despite the cheesiness.

I seem to recall hearing heavy doses of the Ozric's on 'Byker Grove' back in the early 90's!.

hello Mike, just wanted you to know that i got my hands on a rack-mount Supernova 2 (blue one) and a Roland D-50 (nice keyboard) and have linked it to drum machine via midi and making some reasonable 8-track recordings with synth arpeggios alongside the drums. the supernova has some brilliant sounds and is professional quality which makes a big difference to the eventual sound quality of the recordings by the way are you serious about Byker Grove, I didn't really watch it that much, however i have seen a few Geordie kids bopping along to Ozrics groovy tunes at the gigs i saw in Newcastle..

Sorry about my delayed response!. Glad you are enjoying the Supernova and D50!. I have been busy of late with my guitar practice,as I bought a cheap Ibanez acoustic (is there any other brand...) which gave me the will to get back into my electric again (also Ibanez...), and I have also refurbished my poor old Encore classical, which has sat there unloved, with the original strings, for about 15 years!,F-One fretboard oil, wire wool, and D'Addario saved the day though!.I should also mention that my bedroom ceiling collapsed on top of both of them!,they survived mind, just a few scratches on the gloss black finish of the electric. After the ceiling incident, all my electronics have been stored away until I get the bedroom sorted,it is amazing the amount of 'stuff' I have amassed over the years!,I would make for an excellent edition of one of those 'Hoarders' type TV programs!,DVDs (about 1500 of them),vintage stereo equipment, musical instruments, vintage Lego, antique weaponry, classic video game consoles, retro games, vintage shaving equipment, the list of my collectibles goes on!.It is so bad,the wife sleeps in another room,as I wont let her display her collection of 'Pocket Dragons' and other junk.... . I am totally serious about Ozrics on Byker Grove matey!,I remember sat there (sort of) watching it one day, when I jumped up shouting "THATS OZRIC F*****G TENTACLES"!...LOL!.

Ooh er. Glad you didn't get a piece of plaster on your head. Recommend removing ceilings completely and extend display units up to the roof. It's great having loads of stuff cos when we were kids we had nowt, playing with rusty nails in t' back yard. Musically I definitely need a better quality six-string, something with a nice low action and thin strings for quick riffs and funky strumming. hey no worries about quick replies, I find myself replying to posts that are a couple of years old on here. I usually have a browse every few weeks to see if there are any rumours of Ozrics gigs or new online videos. Ozrics now have an Ozric Tentacles Official Youtube page with good quality copies of TOTS and Paper Monkeys, also Silas has uploaded a new track on Soundcloud
