For those who wanna know.....
Ed, Brandi, Merve & Vinny
and man did they rock the place(Sheffield Boardwalk)!!! a fantastic 'rapport' onstage, with smiles and such to match those of the crowd. Everyone i spoke to about the gig had an excellent time.
the setlist (as written)was
Set 1: O-I Voom Jurassic Synthjam Erpland Rhino
Set 2: Jam-D Snakepit Sunscape Throbbe Tidal Kick Muck
with Sploosh as encore.
no i can't clearly remember if this was accuratley followed or not but it is what was on the band's list. maybe someone can confirm one way or another.
The break between sets was a great relief for all the smokers there, a great plan in my book!! Who wants to leave the gig to smoke? so don't fret about it 'not being the same if you cant smoke'. I for one welcome the return of the 'interlude' ;D
i can hardly thank the Ozrix enough for last night's gig as the energy and vibe was brilliant. Just what i needed!
Can't forget to mention a HUGE thank you to my 'hosts' for the remaining evening(& morning), You know who you are!!!!!!

Hey Sideards! I was there too, and had a great time. Thanks for the info re the bassist's name. He's damn good, Vinnie, isn't he? I noticed he gurns a lot, just like Zia used to... either extreme concentration, or some other reason.... ;-)
Yeah, I quite like the interlude idea. It felt really civilised, didn't it? It was pleasant to be able to chat with strangers outside while having a crafty cig.
I was making notes of the set-list on the night, and the only thing I would add to your list is that the intro to the encore, just before Sploosh! was Spyroid, the first track from the Curious Corn album.

Well, have to admit my surprise. One of those kind folks out for a smoke convinced the crazy American that this band was worth seeing, so I went into the Boardwalk for the last set (5 tunes plus the encore)... (I lost track of the fellow who did the convincing, so if he visits this forum, a special thanks and a hat tip to him)..
I was wholly impressed--band was tight, great light show for a small venue, good sound, and especially appealing music. I rarely, these days, run into (new to me) music that catches my ear. The throwback psychedelia, with strains of early Pink Floyd, a bit of Jeff. Airplane, a dash of T-Dream and Kraftwerk, and bits and pieces of bands I've long forgotten--I was amazed.
Didn't know how likely it would be I'd find a CD back in the states, so I picked up a best-of whilst here. I hope to get an idea of the discography from this, but if anyone has any "gotta hear this" suggestions, I'm all ears..
And if the band ever visits the states, and moves a bit off the east coast, closer to the "fly over" states in the middle of the country (say, Chicago), I'll be in line to see them...
Not often I feel motivated to comment on forums, especially in a "fan letter" fashion, but I'm surely a fan now..
