Any Jazz/Fusion fans here? If so you must check out the Alex Skolnick Trio. They are fantastic guitar driven Jazz/Fusion band from New York. I saw them in Chicago and the turn out was pathetic. I wish more people would give them a listen. Check them out at: alexskolnick.dpb1.com/Cheers

Alex Skolnick was at one point the guitarist for thrash metal band Testament. He is a blummin' good player.
Dave have you checked out fellow New Yorker Wayne Krantz ?. This guy is enough to make most guitarists just want to cry or give up.

I'm on it. I like the write up on Allmusic. From Hendrix to somebody I never heard of. Sounds great.
Check out the Alex Skolnick too. They are very unique and redo songs like Tom Sawyer and Highway Star, but make them jazz fusion masterpieces. Their originals are great too.

Are you by chance an Ohm fan, too ? (Ohm being Chris Poland's trio, if you aren't already aware). I highly recommend "Amino Acid Flashback" Fly

Kirk, Don't know if this is what you are looking for ASIN: B000BC8SQK ? Might be an Amazon specific number. You can check www.chrispoland.com for Ohm info, and their CDs should be on Amazon, Guitar9, CD Universe...I've seen their first CD available for download on mp3sparks too ( it's quite good too). Also I should mention Oz Noy, a New Yorker and a bit of a Krantz protoge, although he's a bit more straight with the arrangements - and a bit more Jeff Beck-ish. He uses Keith Carlock a lot on drums, who's a phenominal player. Oz has 3 cds - "Live" "Ha" and "Fuzzy" ( fuzzy is due for release soon ). "Ha" is well worth checking out. I think he has some tunes on his website, too. So much music, so little time Fly
