So that was the gig recorded for the DVD right? Any more hints on a playlist other than the Throbbe? And are they playing that at a bit more sensible speed now with Merv on sticks?!

one of the new songs i thought sounded quite eat static ish , the guitar was very low in the mix at sunrise as it was for the nodens ictus gig last year ... i believe their was lots of midi orchestration (programmed keyboards ) and supa tight musicianship which i found inspiring in a Herbie Hanthingy kind of way , oh and two novations too . dream machine i feel sound a lot more like the here and now band now there's a new-ish song in 7/8 which goes from mellow to rocky every 8 to 16 bars embellished with some key changing , the invisible maze seem to be more focused with hendrix-ish octaves , i kind of remember this weird hybrid of a hawkwind Esqe chord sequence rhythm and a Celtic jig ... maybe i was dreaming .
there's 1 only place to feel it !

hello everyone
i just got back to london after having spent an amazing few days at sunrise! it was such an amazing festival, i really hope it continues for a long time to come - i'll be back next year for certain...
anyway, this threads about the ozrics at sunrise...ozrix gigs are always really special events for me, and this one was probably even more so than usual since it was the 1st festival of the year, and i've always liked seeing the band most at festivals.
the opening of the set was totally electric...from where i was sitting on the stage, pretty close to ed, and not far from merv, i could sense that there was a really special energy between everyone in the band, and that ed, brandi, merv and joie were all totally in tune with each other...on the same cosmic wavelength! the intro jam took us into space, and landed on planet 0-i...a pulsing colourful version...merv's drums were incendiary, and joie's bubbles were blissful. joie's synth solo's were really liquid...like floating through a stream of colour and light....brandi's bass was, as always, cosmically rocking out...we moved through a storming version of vita voom, agan merv's drumming was out of this world, very reminiscent of how he played on jurassic shift......my peronal favourite part of the set was next....a very beautiful version of jurassic shift...ed's harmonics at the start of the track were like sun catching water, glinting off in every direction in shards of yellow, orange and purple...brandi's bass was sublime, hypnotic...not much time to write really, but other highlights for me included a very spacy jam at the end of tidal...the kind of jam you could really lose yourself in...classic ozriciness....and of course rhino...(what a killer version that was)!!!!!
so all in all it was an amazing ozric gig...and beyond the music itself, the vibe both on and off stage was a very loving one...it was so great to catch up with zia and mindflux, who really enjoyed the gig...and then to see them later in dream machine and zubzub, who both played incredible sets. for me, although there were many amazing bands at sunrise, this felt like a gathering of great friends, and that was beautiful.
any of you who are going to be at glastonbury, or any other ozric gigs happening this year, are in for an really good time....the bands in top form!!!!!
ed...brandi...merv...joie.......see you all soon...sending love your way
love dom x

I'm sorry but don't you miss the flutes? Not at all! (Despite being a flautist myself) I think it's fine the way it is at the moment, with Merv and Joie...
