well, if she's reviving THAT aspect of Jon's performance at shows then maybe it's time brandi started playing the clarinet or something too...

Hello Ozrics and everyone - thought this was probably the best place to say hi. I've been listening to the band since Erpsongs and Tantric Obstacles etc were being swapped around on cassette by me and my mates circa 87/88. I've kept up with much of what the band has been up to over the years and think I've only missed a couple of albums in that time. Still sounding great - I stuck on Live Ethereal Cereal tonight and thought I'd have a look for an OT forum on the net - and here it is! If any of you are on the Hawkwind forum, I've been there (as Oz Tentacle, yak yak ;D) for a couple of years, although not much recently. Nice to be here and I'm looking forward to a read of all the threads over the next few days. Cheers, Niz.

I think this is a great story and and I believe that many of us here have had a similar reaction when hearing Ozrics for the first time. We just had to know who that band is. I did not matter what song was being played I'm sure the thought is ( this is good, is there better) Greetings to you all. My first post. Writing from S. Oregon, USA. I'd like to introduce myself with a rather short story of how I became aware of Ozric Tentacles. It was a dark and stormy night! Not really, but I like that short sentence, as it chases away the casual viewer. Actually it was a weekend afternoon in Berkeley, CA. USA. I was at The Greek Theatre on The U. of C. campus, and had come early for a non reserved seat of quality. The show was Procol Harum opening for Jethro Tull, (30 yr. anniversary tour, around '96) and we had a great choice of just about any damn seat in the terraced decks above the reserved floor. Bar and I chose something pretty center for sound quality, and were about 10 rows above the sound board, where a skinny old geezer was twisting nobs and such. Bar and I were just taking in the relaxed vibes and chatting around a good buzz. All of a sudden, while I happened to be saying something, I was mysteriously dizztracted by what had to be the weirdest jam I had heard in decades. I laughed, and looked at Bar with a puzzle look and said "what the Fook is that?" Bar didn't know, and I went back to my chat, but the song kept getting better and better, and I couldn't really concentrate on my chat. I finally jumped up and told Bar that I was going to ask the sound man what he was playing. Now there must have been all of 100 other audience there, and I walked down the 10 rows, and there was a rope keeping me from approaching the sound board. I yelled at that skinny old freek of a man, "Hey, what are you playing?" And he yelled back "Rozzrichlle Then-atalkele". I was dumbfounded, and yelled back "WHAT?" And he once again yelled, "RozzrikeleTendirnclkle". I yelled back "WHAT?" And he was getting a bit disturbed and with spit flying, while almost ripping off his headset, "RozzerichTemndriclr". I realized I was being a bother, and didn't really want to come closer to him. All of a sudden there was a tap on my shoulder. It was an usher, and she asked if there was a problem, and I told her that I couldn't understand what that mad Scotsman was saying to me. She said to stay right there, and she went to him, and he said something, and he replied, and she seemed to be puzzled and asked him again, and he threw up his hands and made like he was real busy, and leave him alone. I think he was ready to play something else, or else. This usher gal came back to me, and said "He says it's Ozric Tentacles". I said, "Ozric Tentacle?" And she said "that's what he just told me." "OK", and I went back to Bar and sat down. He asked if I found out who the band was and I said "I think she said Ozric Tentacle". Well, this went on one or two more times before Bar and I both wondered who and what the fook Ozric Tentacle is. And it was then that I was tapped on my shoulder, and looked behind and up at a fellow audience member. He had come down from a few rows above. He only asked "did you ask who is playing this music?" I said, "yes, it's some band called Ozric Tentacle or something". He asked "What?" Bar cracked up. I cracked up. I repeated the "Ozric Tentacle", and shrugged. That guy went back up to his friends, and Bar and I watched him say "Ozric Tentacle" 2 or 3 times, and who knows how far that thread went. I never had to write that name down. It was and remains indelibly imprinted within my mind. And I knew that it was good.

Thanks for reposting that, Ozricnutter. I love that story. I was looking for new prog. bands and after playing the first demo song from the Jurassic Shift album (found at barnes & noble.com), I started purchasing cd's left & right. The music takes me to a place....where I need to stay

Hi everyone! I've been listening since Erpland came out,and I've happily seen two shows in NY's Wetlands....long ago. The first show with the full light show totally blew my mind...it was total blissful disorientation.I have to add to that this was without any chemical enhancement at all. In fact my friend said to me as he was watching the show,..."I pitty anyone who is tripping now." Because you could float-off just from the sensory overload of it all! I don't know why I got here this late in it all....but I'm glad to be here.....

Helloo, all . . . . Ive not been in these parts, before. I was on another post earlier last week, but thought it only decent to say Hi, oficially . . .So, Hi, officially !! I may noy be the biggest fan of OZRICS after, WATERFALL CITIES, PYRAMIDIAN, HIDDEN WATER STEPS era, but hey . . . I cant ignore the fact that OZRIC TENTACLES were a very important part of my being . . . I found them when I was at a difficult part of my history, and they gave me many a great night out, that helped me escape all the woes and turmoils of what was a very very difficult time for me . . . But hey, they continued to entertain me, and involve me with a huge group of people who I am very proud to call my friends . . . Yes' Ive met these people, drunk with these people, danced with these people, smoked with many of these people, and even had them stay at my house . . . Top people you all are. An Ozric friend, is a friend for life . . . I now even entertain some of you, with my events and djing . . . . I thought, it was only proper to come and say hi to you all, Ed, Brandi and the new Ozric pepes . . . . all the fans I know and even the ones I dont, and especially all of the previous OZRIC members who may be in the Ether, watching from above . . . . Zia, Schoo, Jon, Merve, Joie, Seaweed . . . even Generator John, and those stalwarts. . . Thank you, thank you, thank you . . for being and contiuing being one of the best influentual and entertaining bands around xx Love you all xxxxxxx

Hello to everyone! I`ve hear "Chewier" about 2 years ago, found it on progarchives and was astonished to find that such kind of music even exists... Then I got more and more onto Ozrics, with "Erpland" and "Spirals in Hyperspace" at the beginning, with every comeback to any CD after even a short break I noticed there are numerous layers to be found (and still they are) and one day about half a year ago I got an impression it`s the best band in the world. And I really mean it.
Looking forward to a gig in Poland (I hope such event will take place sooner or later) - I was going to be at Inorock Festival last summer, where Ozrics gave the only show in my country so far, but was delayed to come back from Egypt one day - and it was the night before the gig I was supposed to come back... Such a shame.

Hello, greetings from Belgium, joined the forum after seeing your outdoor show at Villa Pace, St. Niklaas, 7th of september 2013. A free festival, indeed, . First time listening to Ozrics was in the nineties somewhere to Live Underslunky album. We all got excited and started collecting the music. A local music store kept us up to date, 'hey, guys, there's a new Ozric Tentacles album out, wanna hear it?' Awesome times. Looking forward to your show in Brussels at 25th of october. If you hear some folks shouting Kick Muck, well, that'll be us. lol. Also, hello to all Ozric fans around here, I've just sorted the rare and unreleased tracks, so excited! Thanks for sharing this treasure and Ozrics thanks a lot for that immense creativity over the years, you make me smile in dire times. Cheers and have fun, all.
