It sounds good RT, Could I make a request Mr Hillage "please don't sing ever again", love your production, love the guitar, love the synths but your lyrics were terrible and your voice worse, in fact they were shameful mate.

Yeah, but the "bonus"- And Not Or- was as good to me as his classic material.
Video game music. A good one is at . No seriously. I sometimes use a program called bridge, as a frontend for m1, which plays songs from roms (games) for mame, which emulates classic arcade games. You almost certainly need a frontend to make sense of how to use mame, and there are dozens, but most people just use mame32.
It's an acquired taste, but wading through all this damn crap was honestly worth it for me to be able to listen to looped arcade game songs in excess of 20 minutes for my favorite game music.

Music without frontiers alberik, I do like Meshuggah but I wish the guy would stop shouting so much and let me listen to whats going on a bit more. The guitar solos are pretty ethereal and out there...

Wooooooaaaaaaaa Nellllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyy. Standby, whilst I shake the space dust off my jacket. Yes please, I will have a pint of Midland with a dash of lime. Now dazes I rarely listen to music with singing. But back to your comments about Steve Hillage singing is different for me. Steve singing for me comes straight from his heart and mind which makes it that much more in bedded within my inner spark. His lyrics had much food for thoughts and carried me onwards and upwards during my dazes of travelling which they would refresh my inner spark in time of need. I would hum and sing some of Steve and Miquette vocal musik. Back in 83’ whilst based in Turkey, one night on the beach I was looking at a bright full moon coming up in the horizon thinking it would be great to see Steve Hillage band once again. I sang the tune of “Sea Nature” “Its time for my soul to go, swimming inside nature, popping out at the bottom of the sea in minutes that seemed like hours”. The Turkish guards which patrol the beach late at night even like it after I explain the lyrics to them which they also like the guitar riffs as I play it to them via my cassette player. It was that year that I also came across “FOR TO NEXT AND NOT OR”. To me it was the beginning of leaving the singing behind and moving onwards with their electromagnetic A-Waves. Through the years a many of times I have tuned into the good ones which were pure and clear refreshment for this heart and mind. Now after many years of me harping for the Steve Hillage Band and a gathering with GONG it’s finally coming to life. Yep, I will be there up front and centre singing along “These Uncharted Lands” which the lyrics has had a strong meaning to me during my travelling across this planet…. So Kirk, maybe one day we can be together whilst the Steve Hillage Band sings that song which then you can truly say, “Cisco, I do not like your singing”…. Yes please, another pint of Midland with a dash of lime… ;D Peace and Keep Zee Faith

The lyrics are excellent, there's no question there. The problem with "For To Next" is that it focuses lopsidedly on singing. In "Sea Nature" and even the lesser one about the tropical vacation, the husky rasp of the voice itself isn't a hindrance, because the music sweeps you away from such judgements. And especially in "Fish Rising", the sweeping tones just blast the vocals away anyhow. (I'm not diehard on this, though, just trying to clarify the perspective.)

Nice one Graywizard...
Sea Nature
Steve Hillage Band – Green – Palm Tree
There are several other Steve Hillage Band tracks which are sweet which Ether Ships has been another one of me fave along with the funky tune of UFB -Unidentified (Flying Being)….. There is even one with Hillage background music “Glorious Om Riff” to the “The Iron Man” Movie…
Here is a listing of Steve Hillage tunes on YouTube videos.

RT- if you like Hillages singing fair play, personally I don't, I always felt that he sounded like Neil from "the young ones" doing Karaoke. I don't like the lyrics and the same goes for Gong. "You" is a great release because there is little singing. Hillage's best work I think is System 7 and the work he did with Stereo MCs and Rachid Taha, lots of guitar there. No one ever mentions the Simple Minds releases he did "Sons and Fascination" and the freebie one "Daughters and ......"
Now Coldpay, Satriani is taking them to court as he thinks they've plagiarised his work, anyone else seen that ?

Yup, seen that in the news, apparently 'Viva La Vida' track sounds a bit too much like Satriani's 'If I Could Fly'. Found this silly clip

Nice, RT. I just got that album yesterday. It's interesting hearing these songs I know oh so well warped and twisted into almost new creations.
Besides Floating Seeds, I've also been listening to: Ozric Bootlegs from the 80's and early 90's Nodens Ictus- The Grove of Selves Tool- Lateralus Bad Religion- The Empire Strikes First Best of Jimi Hendrix Kodo- Mondo Head
As well as practicing up on my shuffling. Here's a video(not of me, just an example)

Spot on Kirk, Borabadur for me is a classic and special one deep within me heart. I use to rock my youngest daughter to sleep humming the tune from the Golden Section release…. Have not come across any space dust foot prints leading to any Mirror System 7 studio A~Waves…. I think it’s been baking for while and not to far off being pulled from the oven… Peace and Keep Zee Faith

Hey RT, you do have the Stereo Mc's stuff with Steve H don't you ?
I think its amazing, I like Stereo Mc's anyway, but with all the Arabian stuff Steve did thrown in for good measure - Wow!
Despite me moaning and whingeing about Steve and his singing I do love what he does. He does what he wants to ,wnen he wants to, I hope I still have his enthusiasm for music at 60 + or whatever he is. Miquette is a fantastic synth player too, I'd love to hear her do some stuff with Seeweed or Joie wouldn't you ?
I've seen System 7 maybe about 20 times and bought the first release on 12' way back in 1990 (sunburst). They've always been the best thing about glasto for me, as they've always been there when our tentacle and static friends have been other duties.
I don't have a record player anymore and as you are obviously a mega mega fan you can have my System 7 12 vinyls if you haven't got em and want em. Send me a PM with your addy.
