*Pyoing*Hey everyone !!! Wow, nice to see this place is still going! I couldn't get access to my old account on here, so I've made a new one.. Recently I've been posting most of my news on facebook, but I'll try and include all info on here as well from now on... So...my new Debut solo album 'Shimmer into Nature' is out on October 12th (!!), and is available for pre-order on Burning Shed! If you pre-order, you'll receive the new single release 'Shim' to keep you happy in the meantime!Tracks
1. Glass Staircase [08:01] 2. Travel Dust [08:32] 3. Oddplonk [08:06] 4. Shim [07:49] 5. Wherble [10:21]
Artwork by John Hurford! Here's a little teaser for you...! The first glimmering of the shimmerings.. Ed Wynne - 'Shimmer into Nature'The debut solo album from the psychedelia visionary and founder of Ozric Tentacles.A visionary, a prodigal symphonist, one of the UK’s leading influential musicians: Ed Wynne is undoubtedly a gifted instrumentalist. He is credited as one of the linchpins of the UK festival scene’s re-emergence along with his band Ozric Tentacles, who formed at Stonehenge Free Festival 1983 and became staples of the Glastonbury Festival, with their most recent performance at Glastonbury in 2016 on the Glade stage. With an incredible flair for creating masterful tapestries of sound, and for having sold over a million records worldwide, Ed Wynne’s debut solo album on Kscope will be quick to take a hold on fans of psychedelic synth and rock music.Shimmer into Nature was recorded and inspired by the different locations Ed Wynne travelled to over three years, from deep in the Colorado Mountains, to the coastlines of Cornwall and South Devon, before being completed on Scotland’s East Coast by the Firth of Forth.“The idea is to transport the listener to a place where the everyday ups and downs of the world dissipate, leaving the mind free to wander through a colourful, omnidirectional guitar and synth driven musical landscape for a while, landing eventually, hopefully freshly charged, with a smile and a calmer spirit.”Release Date 12th October 2018! (copied from the KScope music website) So there you go, now you know...Hope you have fun with this.. Hi Ed,
The Shim track sounds like Old Skool Ed but with something fresh and new. I ordered this already from K-Scope so don't know if I get the track, but I can be patient for the whole thing.
Thanks for continuing to make our lives that much richer with your music.
Matt

Excited to see this new project! Also, Love the youtube posts, hope those continue. I love that you posted the Become the Other video, those really pretty songs, I'd love to see more of those live, I tend to make playlists like these. I wish that particularly album, Become the Other, were available for streaming on Amazon since I primarily use my phone now for listening. I shared this new album post with a friend, Peter Harris, who has been interviewing guitarists for his podcast. Peter would love to interview you, Ed! peters-principles.comharrisp72@gmail.com Looking forward to hearing the album and hopefully catching a tour - I'm in Atlanta, GA, and Peter is in Knoxville, TN. Best to you, Ed! Thanks for so many years of inspiration and beauty. Andy McIntire andymcintire@gmail.com

Thanks for the interview with Ed! Interesting insights into his use of equipment and especially inspiration by sounds from nature.

Great interview (why wasn't Ed so candid years ago?) - thx, pch5150.
Got my SHIMMER today! Midway through second listen.. goes to some familiar Ozric places and some unfamiliar ones.. but all uniquely brilliant as ever.

Listening to the album for the second time, unfortunately in a pirated 320kbps version for the time being. I'll get it when it becomes available on Burning Shed again. I reckon that although it definitely has an Ozric vibe it justifies its solo album nature. I find it more focused (admittedly with less variety) that a traditional Ozric album with a lot more guitar. Best of all, it gets better with every listen.

Thanks Peter. I heard this through a link from another site (UK comedy forum actually). Really nice to hear Ed being so candid.

My CD came in today from Burning Shed. Perhaps it was not a bad thing that this release was delayed. The artwork definitely has a spring season vibe and so does the music. It perfectly matches the sunny view from my window as I watch a small field of early snowdrops.

Mine came yesterday and it's BEAUTIFUL! I agree that it matches the sunny winter sky and also takes us on a beautiful journey as Ed's music always does. Thanks for this work of art, and the cover art is beautiful too.

I'm really digging this album. Between Technicians Of The Sacred, Cozmic Key, and this album, Ed has been hitting it out of the park! I hope there will be some live gigs this year.

My vinyl of Shimmer Into Nature arrived. Whilst it's not exactly a new direction it's certainly an enjoyable listen and there's some twists and turns I didn't expect. I also prefer some of the guitar work which sounded a little different somehow, both in sound and occasionally style.
Thumbs up on the album length too - 42 mins is ideal IMHO.

Yeah, I got that about the guitar work too. Doesn't it seem more cohesive/less varied than Ozrics too?

Yeah, I got that about the guitar work too. Doesn't it seem more cohesive/less varied than Ozrics too? I'm not sure, I probably need to hear it again. More cohesive/less varied than which Ozrics I guess would be my question. I'm not familiar with the last three, and in fact do not own them.

Agree as well about the guitar work; reminds me of earlier Ozrics. I don't own the most recent 3 Ozrics albums either but very much like Ed's new album. Sounds like he will be touring with the post-Daevid Gong band in the Uk as "Ed Wynne Band".... not sure who will be in the band but would be cool if some past Ozrics musicians were in....Jon, Joie, etc?

I reckon any Ozrics album. Maybe not The Yum Yum Tree. There's just so much variety and the tunes morph more radically on OT albums.
This is not meant as criticism, instead it makes more sense that it's not an OT album.
