I was listening to the Beatles anthology two, which has all the Sargent Pepper, Magical Mystery and White album stuff on it, and while i was listening to it, it occurred to me what a great anthology the Ozrics could do, they've been around now for over twenty years, got around twenty albums to their name, they must have loads of live stuff, maybe works in progress or alternate versions or acoustic run throughs of different songs that have never seen the light of day, i bet there's some rare recording's somewhere of gigs they done back in the early days at some of these free festivals at Stonehenge or wherever and maybe recording's of tuning up when a lot bands tend to do a cover of something or other, with the years they been around, there must be lads of stuff they could use to make up a very interesting anthology.

eternal wheel from 2-3 years ago was a good attempt... however, i think you'd need a series of anthologies to cover the career of this band, both live and in the studio... try putting together a 2-cd "best of" sometime for a friend, it defies one's abilities really... the "best" of today will be different tomorrow, for sure. i have around 160 shows at this point, and trying to select the "best" version of the throbbe, or ayurvedic, or kick muck etc just gets one's brain all in a tither

Could do it with two double albums, first being, unheard live stuff, the other being unreleased or alternate versions of stuff from the studio, i don't think there would be an Ozric fan out there who could resist that, especially if it came in the glossy packaging that Eternal Wheel came in. , surely there's someone out there who can be tasked by the band to take on the job, theres probably loads of fans out who would love to take that on...working closely with the band going through all the stuff with full access. It would probably take a couple years and a lot of hard work, but it would be an amazing couple of albums. I'd do it myself if i didn't have work everyday.

Tell ya what, if i had the time, i'd love to do it, doin shift work, rules me out, but i bet theres gotta be someone on here who could take on that project with the time and dedication it needs. If i win the lotto tonight, i'll knock work on the head and take it up...promise. .

you also have to take into consideration the performers and the release rights owned by others such as record labels. to collect from all the sources would be a massive undertaking yes, however , i personally feel, getting permissions from all the relevant folks would be a much more mammoth task!!!

I got loadsa good ideas, just can't play an effin instrument . Anyway I've got another one, for the next album, I've already said in another post somewhere about making it a double and havin the second cd as a live version of the studio album which would be cd one, but going one better than that, make it so you can buy the album either as a straight album with the one cd or buy the deluxe triple box set with cd one being the studio album, cd two, being a dvd of a live set, done in the studio of the studio album and lastly cd three being a dvd again of Eastern Haze, that would be super sexy, alternately, you could buy the dvd of Eastern Haze on its own like the album, but if you want the live studio set, you gotta but the deluxe pack, that would be a proppa clincher, coz i know what one i would buy and probably most of you...some of ya seem to know them on here, have a word .

he he, the haze footage i got wont be any good for general release unless theres a mastered sound recording somewhere(more of that 'permission collecting), don't think you would be too chuffed to fork out for summat with 'dodgy' camcorder audio on it eh?!??!? as far as i am aware MyChoonz were the only folks who filmed the entire set! as for having a word, you're doing that right now! the band members pop in here from time to time to say hi and stuff (hullooo ozrix) , i am sure they read more than they post too

Okay, so the super deluxe triple cd, dvd pack is a non starter, but how about this.
CD 1 - Studio album. CD 2 - DVD of a live set recorded in a studio, bit like Spice Doubt, with a few close friends and family, and maybe some lucky fans who've managed to blag tickets. The live set could be a few tunes off the new album and say another half a dozen of classic tunes, but the classic tunes they'll do would be voted on a poll by us on here...how about that then.
