Found one so far.. 6/13 - Philadelphia, PA - Ardmore Music Hall OZRIC TENTACLES w/Consider the Source opening (more O.T. dates TBA) Please play somewhere I have been wanting to go or at least play somewhere in Florida so I don't have to go far this time ... my next OT show will be number 13! I would definitely like to request a stop in Baltimore this year, or anywhere in Maryland for that matter. I'm going through a rough period in my life right now (impending divorce) and I'm clinging to Ozric Tentacles music with everything I've got in my heart and soul. And I could really, REALLY use some live Ozrics in my life right now. Blessings from the stars, and may you all have a safe and productive tour.

Their show last year at the 8x10 was among the best I've ever seen. I'm considering finding a way to go to the Philly show, but we would love to see them back in Maryland!

I'm going to the show tomorrow night (June 12) at the Rex here in Pittsburgh, PA! I never expected they'd book a show here of all places, but I am super excited, and can't wait to meet some local Ozrics fans. I'll post a review but don't expect me to remember a setlist or anything.

Last night's Pittsburgh show was unbelievable, way beyond my expectations! Apologies in advance for the rambling review, hope you can get the gist. For some reason the door time was pushed back an hour to 8, the promoter was nice enough to email ticket holders about this though. Around 9 the first opener came on, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, never heard of them but they blew me away. A jazz fusion trio, steel drums, bass, and regular drums. All these guys were insanely good, especially the bass player. The crowd was way into it, awesome to see for an opening band. They sold a lot of albums for sure. I believe this tour has different openers each night, so unfortunately you won't get to see these guys, but look the up if you can. So after JSF played a nice long set, Brandi came on and introduced the surprise second opener, Natan Lenski aka Mantismash. He's the TOTS album cover art designer, and a pretty good laptop DJ. He played a nice (but too long, felt like 45+ mins) set of dubstep/trance/etc. I had sorta assumed he could be a full band member and just be doing an extended intro for the band, but it became clear this wasn't the plan. Then I kept expecting him to wrap it up, this also didn't happen. About maybe 30-45 minutes into this, people were getting a bit pissed. Even though his music was pretty good, people just weren't expecting to watch a guy on a laptop push a few buttons for an hour. I started to wonder if there was some technical glitch or something and he was just doing a good job vamping, but no, I think the band just intended to put on a nice lengthy show for people and to take their time.There was some confusion also because all promo material only mentioned one opener. Then Brandi is up there with a guy with credits on the album, so most fans probably assume it's just a 5-piece band now. There's certainly a place for a guy on a laptop so that was my thinking. I think people just don't expect the main act to wait until 11 to go on. One guy even started to heckle Natan with "go home!", that was a bummer. So I hope no one left, cause as soon as the band came on, at 11, everyone cheered up and forget all that other nonsense. I hope people were pacing themselves with their shitty beers cause we were in for a roughly 2:15 set! After 1 I started to get worried the venue might be a bit irritated at this and try to get them to wrap it up, but thankfully, that didn't happen. We got a great encore. Set list is a blur, I'm sure you can guess the general set list based on the earlier shows this tour. But man, from start the finish, the band sounded utterly amazing, definitely partly thanks to the new drummer. Holy shit, that guy is ridiculously good, I may have watched him the most out of anyone. I love drummers who can play insane odd time signatures like it's another day in 4/4. The mix was perfect, maybe a bit on the loud side, but it was all good. It was always easy to hear Brandi which was awesome. So we also had probably at least 200 people show up!! Totally surprised me as well as the band. All types of people, I never expected to see real young dance club-types or big bro-type dudes but they all were way into it! Ed made multiple comments about how happy they were to see so many people in the crowd, especially in Pittsburgh. I didn't go to the last show here but I think it was much less well attended. And if a good amount of those people were not OT fans going into it, they definitely were on the way out. Everyone was so into it, having a great time, it was a great vibe. Random thing, but I got a kick out of Brandi's dismay that the venue was non-smoking during whatever song that is where she mentions wanting to see clouds. Unfortunately the few brave pot smokers in the crowd couldn't keep up So yeah, it's up there with the best show I've ever been to, and the awesome crowd definitely ensured they will be back to town next year! We've got Ozrics and Shpongle (please please Simon bring the live band) hitting us up once a year now, yearly prog metal from Steven Wilson, Dream Theater, and others, things are looking great for the intelligent music scene in town I think. About time too, there is nothing worse than having to drive to Cleveland to see smaller bands. Oh, last thing, I don't know if the band records every show but I really hope so. There was a guy there early, first thing, with a pro-level stereo recording setup right in the middle of the floor, I assume he was a bootlegger, or maybe just recording an audience track? Regardless, he suddenly packed up and left before the first opener, not sure why, wish I had talked to him. I hope he didn't get yelled at... I assume no one is ballsy enough to setup a giant 10-foot mic tripod without making sure it's ok. Maybe they just told him they were making a soundboard recording or something, who knows? Anyway, I'd love to see lots more FLAC concerts in the OT download shop. They are so well recorded, and in 24-bit too! I'd buy every one for sure. I know the set list is probably quite similar for a group of shows, so they would only pick the best one, that's fine too. Might as well add a Blu-ray concert to my wish list too while I'm at it...

I'm glad that people enjoy the gigs and all, but I don't get how it's possible to have 200 people in a show and be OK and then lose money on a show with 400 or so in another country. It just beats me. And that was the last time I've moaned about that. Promise.

BBKings last night, 6/14, was another amazing show. (should've done Philly as well ) Like poster above, couldn't possible mention a single song, only done three shows....
Talked to a bunch of people there 1st time, and a lot of overlap: deadheads, biscuit heads, camp and similar festi-goers, all heard something good or other from friends. But, OT needs more exposure here. After all these years, and with so much overlap, it's amazing to me how many people that should know just don't. no one I talked to had anything other than the best words for that.
Need momre festival appearances, which really should be headline status. Hoping, lol.
btw, neebie on the board, is there a mail-list to keep track of tour info? please post if there is.
They said last night there will be more US shows in fall, that's what I'm waiting for.

Hey everyone, caught the show in Buffalo on the 11th. 2 1/2 hour drive both ways to see Ozric's for the first time and it was well worth it.
Despite the fact that the sound techs were pretty awful and we were unable to hear Silas play for a long time, the show was badass. It was at a small bar called the Ironworks, very intimate venue with a garage open to go in and out as you please. I was put onto Ozric's by a friend who got me into the jam band scene, I've spent a short amount of time listening to their music but not too much, was really blown away by their live performance. Propelled by a slight frustration with the sound, they put that emotion straight into the music and had some really cool, aggressive sounding jams. Brandi and Balazs were both smiling the whole night and the crowd was giving that energy right back, seeing musicians really having fun on stage always makes the performance that much more enjoyable. Really glad I got the opportunity to watch this amazing group play from the front row, was smiling all night, hope to get the chance to see them again soon!
Setlist was as follows: Jurassic -> Sploosh! -> Dog -> Changa -> Sultana -> Zenlike -> Mooncalf -> Epiphlioy -> Xingu -> Sky -> Turf -> Eternal

Hey Yiannis (and all) I can't guarantee that Big Toddy will record the Ozrics when they hit the Schuylkill festival in September, however, depending on weather and other circumstances, I'll do my best to make sure we get it somehow. Much depends on the Ozrics' wishes on the night and if they use their own projections and lights or ours.... Either way, I'm looking forward to that weekend... the festival atmosphere in Schuylkill is VERY comfortable. Mick.
