Apparently Ed plays on Jordan Rudes's new solo CD " The Road Home" released soon on Magna Carta.

Not sure about the "without arguement" part but this sounds promising. Neal Morse sings on Dance on a volcano! This is from Jordans website www.jordanrudess.com/jr/Dream Theater's keyboard player and, without argument, rock's premier keyboardist. Jordan has been influenced by classic progressive acts such as Genesis, Yes and Gentle Giant and ELP. On "The Road Home", he revisits some of the great songs from those bands with his own special Jordan Rudess touch. Special guests appearing are:Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) Neal Morse (Spock's Beard) Ed Wynne (Ozric Tentacles), Kip Winger (Winger), Rod Morgenstein (Winger), Bumblefoot (Guns'N'Roses), Marco Sfogli (JamesLaBrie), Nick D'Virgilio (Spock's Beard), Ricky Garcia (Lafee)

i saw dream theater in montreal the other night... you know, they are damned good musicians but they are definitely into the self-adulation thing, which turns me off cold to be honest... the true mark of greatness is humility about one's talents.... sorry if i offend anyone with that!

In all honesty I don't listen to DT near as much as I used too and your criticism is fair. I've been on a nearly year long Buckethead binge and now am digesting the last two by Porcupine Tree. PT is growing very quickly on me.

I agree with comments regarding Dream Theater.
With the exception of the first album (which is good, but ya' know...) I was shook up big time when I heard the following IMAGES AND WORDS - AWAKE - A CHANGE OF SEASONS and FALLING INTO INFINITY (though this was not quite on par).
Once Kevin Moore had left I felt the magic had gone. I enjoyed his replacement, Derek Sherinian, and the two albums he played on.
The albums to follow with Jordan Rudess were not really for me. SCENES FROM A MEMORY was a bit Floydy (zzzz) in places for me and the general feel was a lack of kick - a tad melodic - though 'Dance Of Eternity' was pure joy. After this album they got all sort of angry like, very heavy and 'look at us, we are so fast and heavy' kinda thing. Sure they are extraordinary players, but they imploded for me. No songs of any great quality, like before, just fast n' very heavy.
I admit I have not heard the new album.
I think their peak was with the AWAKE album. It was like hearing speechless rock.
