I have the original Dovetail box and the 2013 remastered box.
My original does not have a booklet. The 2013 edition has a booklet but with regard to recording dates... there is nothing. I don't think even Ed knows.

I guess their focus lies on vinyl. One side of an LP cannot go very far over 22 minutes without degrading the sound quality.

Kind of quiet in here. Anyway, this is some Ozrics inspired stuff I wrote.

My CD came in today from Burning Shed. Perhaps it was not a bad thing that this release was delayed. The artwork definitely has a spring season vibe and so does the music. It perfectly matches the sunny view from my window as I watch a small field of early snowdrops.

Silas Neptune - The Scales of Tahuti It is taking turns with The Cozmic Key. Both are great but if I had to choose then The Scales of Tahuti would be my favorite. The latter seems to be more carefully produced although it is a bit heavy on the bass drums, but not in a dancey kind of way. Well, unless you are an odd legged myriapod.

Thanks. Sounds great! With this and the new Nodens Ictus we'll be spoilt rotten in December.

My latest tune: Cosmic Relief III know it doesn't sound very cosmic, but before this version I had one that was way out there. I suppose I could still add a spacy intro.Edit: Space intro added.

Maybe it's someone Balazs knows? He's from Hungary. That makes sense. I hadn't thought of that connection. So I guess we're good then. My apologies to Agnes.

Now that the Ozric Tentacles Bandcamp site is back up I was able to email the owner through the Bandcamp contact form.
I received a reply from someone called Agnes. She wrote that Bandcamp has deleted their site 4 times already and never replies to her emails. She also wrote that she believes the refund Bandcamp sent me has not affected their sales. So I guess Bandcamp refunded me from their own pocket.
So far so good, but who is Agnes? I understand that busy bands often make use of hired hands or volunteers to run their daily affairs. I did notice however that the email was sent from a client which is set to the Hungarian language (the message starts with "2017.04.08. 22:16 keltezéssel, ***** írta:", which translates to "On 2017.04.08. 22:16 ***** wrote:"). Additionally, her English leaves something to be desired. Maybe I am just overly suspicious. After all we are an international community.

A pleasant bubbly atmosphere. It starts and ends rather abruptly though.

Strange. My Ozric Tentacles purchases have been removed from my Bandcamp collection without explanation. And even stranger: Bandcamp gave me a refund! I guess this means it wasn't official at all. I still have the downloaded flac files though. Without having paid anything, which feels kind of wrong. I wonder if there is any way I can donate the refunded money to the real Ozric Tentacles?

I was also looking for Live in Oslo since I recently lost my entire digital music collection. I had just about everything from the Ozrics shop. A part of my collection has been recovered thanks to digital music shops that allow re-downloads. In fact the Ozrics shop also allows this but unfortunately it only worked for my most recent purchases. Everything I had bought before the shop went down temporarily could not be re-downloaded. I guess the database was renewed at that point. So I had to buy most of the Ozric stuff again. Which is fine because I know the money is going to a good cause. I'm still missing Oslo though. Going through my old sales receipt from the shop I don't see a Live in Italy from 2011. Or did you mean Live in Milan from 2012? That one is still there in the shop.

I love that Rhodes sound! And a Solina String Ensemble even! I have one as well although it hasn't been used in 25 years. I once took my string ensemble apart to see if the massive chorus effect could be removed and used as a stand-alone effect, but as it turned out the chorus is applied to each key separately. This was long before internet and google so back then the only way to figure out stuff like that was trial and error.
