Hello! I've been a listener since childhood and I was wondering if anyone knew the true origin of the name "Ozric" Because for one reason or another the band and I share the name and am hella curious about it.

Welcome. That's a cool name. It would be kind of awkward if you thought they were crap.
This is from Wikipedia:
According to Wynne, "'Ozric' is an old Viking name meaning 'divine energy', and 'tentacles' is a silly word to put on the end."

bookworm fun fact, there's a character in Hamlet named Osric, and a wizard in Terry Pratchett's Discworld named Osric Penicillium.

There's also a story, perhaps entirely apocryphal of the forming of the band at a festival and the name being a mythical (or was it imaginary?) breakfast cereal, other names along similar lines of that description were "Desmond Whisps", "Malcolm Segments", and "Gilbert Chunks"
