Saw it yesterday, really excited. The only thing that is less than 100% satisfactory is that it's "only" 55 min long

I know you put it in quotes, but I consider 55 minutes long. It's interesting how album lengths have changed over the years. Back in the early '70s some albums were 35 minutes or even less.
Personally I favour around 45 minutes which is a more digestible length.
It does depend on the style and quality though. Erpland for example easily justifies its 70+minute double album length.

Looking forward to checking this one out. I did listen to a Nodens lctus live recording recently. I spotted some drum loops that were recycled for Erpland which was interesting.

I tend to want about an hour or so of Edness in each offering, and 70 min is not overlong for me usually. 45 min is like an EP for Ozric/Nodens etc.

Great news, might not be able to make the London gig now but will definately try and pick up a copy of this. Any online samples available yet? don't think any on sound cloud...

Curious Corn is 46 mins... It 's always felt a bit short to me. Great, but short.

Curious Corn is 46 mins... It 's always felt a bit short to me. Great, but short. To be fair I thought so at the time too. I think my preferences have changed a little towards shorter albums since then, either that or my attention span isn't what it used to be...

my attention span isn't what it used to be... I think I'm the same - too much internet - but a longer album would mean a little more of a great thing, of which there isn't much anyway.

So, anyone went to the first gig and got the album? What's it like?

Pretty excited about this.. even though i'd usually rather get a fresh Ozric biscuit outta the box.

Not the CD but they give a free FLAC - probably 24 bits - with the purchase so I have had a few listens. There doesn't seem to be a lot of artwork but I'm still looking forward to holding the physical product in my hands.

That middle bit on Fractal Sunset is as mental as stuff Merv comes up with - utter weirdness.

After a few listens I'm really feeling the album

CD arrived today. Not much artwork but what's there is nice to look at. I can't believe Ed had to release this on his own. I wonder why Snapper wasn't involved.

Maybe because there isn't much of a market for albums these days, let alone CDs?
Still a crappy situation though.

The listing on Discogs even says it's a CDr. So it's not even going to last that long. Pity. It's probably going to be a collector's item soonish, but I'd rather they pressed a proper CD and it be less of a rarity. Thankfully the free FLAC download might last a bit longer.

Ok, it's a CDR. That's probably because to do a silver disc you're talking minimum 500 copies and a fair outlay. CDR you can just run off as needed.

@yiannis
Cdr? Mate, are you sure? My definition of a cdr is Merv's Dendron. This one looks a proper pro print, digipak and all.

I am not sure at all. It just says so on Discogs. It'd be much better if they were wrong.
To be honest I haven't played the disc at all, the FLAC download is probably a bit better than the CD as it's 24bits.

ah, I see what you mean. I'll take this type of cdr anytime Dendron is still the real cdr, with the cd print already peeling off and the cover home-printed on an inkjet. Btw, this is what the packaging looked like, from NI fb post

In the past it used to be easy to tell a CDR as it wouldn't be a silver disc underneath. Not sure if that's still the case. I would think you can still have a CDR with proper printing on the disc and professionally designed artwork of course, if you choose to.
The Nodens Bandcamp link has it down as a CD, not CDR.

Well the release is proper stuff isn't it. OK, no longer pagan vibes but that's been replaced by a future groove that is satisfying and addictive.

The ending to Swoop Bong!!! Yes - the best hook (? arpreggio?) for many years.

My vote for best bit goes to the last part of Fractal Sunset but Swoop Bong - the whole track - is not far behind,

I'd really like a proper live video now. Snippets sound fantastic so far. I would really like Ed to keep Nodens going for some time and hopefully do proper tours too.
