Hello
I have a question about the old old vitamin enhanced box sets. Firstly I should say I am totally totally out of touch with Ozric world but have many little Ozric memorabilia / treasures from years ago. I am spending time this Xmas & new year having a clear out so im slowly selling stuff on the bay. I was amazed to see so many Vitamin Enhanced up for sale so a guess this has been re released ? So here is my question – Is there any value to the old original copy's now ? The old ones are numbered (dont know if the new are) and I have 005056 and 001336 still with its cellophane. I have held back from listing these as I would like to know if they are still worth it or not?
Thanks in advance for any info

Nothing happens to quickly on this forum anymore... only a few intermittent posts these days. Yes Vitamin Enhanced has been reissued. One of the fans from this very forum did some restoration and then handed the results to the band, who then had it remastered and reissued with full liner notes. These albums were of course reissued before this (unsure of what label) but it wasn't done particularly well - they were issued in pairs with different artwork. These latest reissues are more faithful to the original and much better by the sound of things. There are some previous threads about it here and here with more information. I still have the old edition, but not in the cardboard box (that's how i bought it, as separate discs). My guess is it would only be worth something if you had the original cereal box, but with Ebay things seem to be worth whatever people are prepared to pay so who knows really. I don't believe anything Ozrics is really all that collectible. Some great music in these early albums...I should probably look into the remasters. I'm not usually a fan of these but in this case some of the sound quality could benefit from it.

After a few listens the remastered sound is somewhat clearer but also bassier. The box set is worth every penny though, lots of info there.

I don't mind bassier... some of the early ones are a little thin sounding. What I don't like with remasters is when they make everything too bright. And over compress it of course.

I finally got around to getting this. Nice to have the actual box finally and the booklet and credits are a great addition. Onto the sound - I definitely noticed an improvement on the first couple, and no more tape dropouts which is very welcome. Live Ethereal Cereal is still pretty rough sounding at times but there's probably not much that can be done with that given the source material. That one has always been my least favourite from this era. I noticed the increased bassiness on the mixes but didn't find it to be a problem. Some of the older tracks had somewhat inconsistent bass dynamics so it seems to have sorted that out without going overboard on compression.
Having not listened to Ozrics in quite a while I am rediscovering all over again the magic of these early albums.
