Hm, this is the Ozrics release that needs remastering. I'll have to buy it when it becomes available if this is remastered.

A buy if dvd is fixed, the out of sync issue always bothered me, so I actually haven't watched the dvd yet.

this is the reply i got from burning shed records.... jp
"It’s essentially the same mastering as used on the 2002 2CD and DVD releases, slightly tweaked and EQ’d at Reynolds Mastering. Now only one CD, 4 tracks* are on the DVD only, which has 5.1 surround/stereo audio options. All tracks are on the DVD.
*Myriapod
*It’s A Hup Ho World
*Pixel Dream
* Dissolution
On a general Ozrics note, the mastering on all of these re-releases (CD/LP/DVD) are limited to taking audio from existing CDs/DVDs as all original masters etc went up in smoke when the band’s house in Colarado was consumed by a massive forest fire in 2012 (http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=87960). Much of the re-mastering work on the Vitamin Enhanced CD box (SMABX1009) was done before the fire, but outside of that the tools we’ve had to work with are limited. However, Reynolds Mastering always work a bit of magic (especially on vinyl) and I’m happy these re-issues sound as good as we can possibly get them.”

Thanks for the info hawkwomble. I'm not going to rush out to buy it then. Hope someone reports on any improvement in quality here.

There is also a vinyl release - (Curious Corn and Erpland vinyl reiissues have just been announced). I got the Pongmaster's on vinyl as that is a new format, but won't bother with the others (CC has the Floating Seeds mixes of tracks from that album on it too).
Given the Hillage and Floyd massive boxed sets that have just been released, could this be done with the Ozrics - potentially crowd funded? How much unheard material remains unscathed and undestroyed?

absolutely agree. loads of unreleased oz stuff out there that could be cleaned up and released. the stuff the genesis fan club have done from the early 70's is proof enough, jp
