Hi allisternz. Just click on the link on the first post of the thread and then click on the 'buy' bar.

Yes I saw that link, but was wanting to use the bands own merch site from this website homepage to maximise their profits....no "add to cart" though...

Yeah, I wanted to buy direct from the band but there is no option to add to cart.

Received it this morning. The packaging and booklet are spot on, exactly what I was hoping for. In the sound department, with the exception of some obviously corrected tape drops and a job well done on those, I can't tell much of a difference. This could well be either due to limitations of my stereo or even intentional to an extent. Whatever the case I'm glad I own this gem. Richard Allen's liner notes have made me want to read the book he's -hopefully- authoring on the band's history. Also the fact that he mentions alternative versions of some Erpsongs tunes makes me want to listen to them, especially Tidal Otherness. This is a perfect celebration of the 30 year anniversary.

I've now listened to the whole set, some CDs more than others. The last one was Live Ethereal Cereal. Now that t was a revelation. LEC remains my least played of all Ozrics recordings, but now I can finally say that I do love it - at least most of it. I heard bits and pieces in some tunes I'd never heard or noticed before and especially Og-Ha-Be was really sublime, as good a version as any. It didn't sound like a block of sound or tinny like before, but defined and deep. I also loved Erpriff and all the tunes from Obstacular Explosion till the end.
Those sounds I've mentioned I hadn't heard before happened with all the CDs. If this is the result of having loudnessed the recordings up, then I'm all for it. At no time did a tune sound overly loud or feel like all the sounds were in your face at the same time. I'm sure not nearly as knowledgeable or have as trained ears as some of the sound wizards (I'm not being sarcastic) on the board, but I don't think I see any loss of dynamics on this set of albums at all. I hear great versions of familiar tunes, with a more open sound, which has enough space for all its components to be heard distinctly. If this is because the process was used carefully then I reckon that, as with most tools, it is how they are used rather than that they're inherently evil.
On a completely unrelated note, Paper Monkeys came out in '11 and now it's '14. Should I start getting excited all over again before the enthusiasm about Vitamin Enhanced has even worn off? I bet the new album, whenever it comes out, is going to be very carefully mastered.

Those sounds I've mentioned I hadn't heard before happened with all the CDs. If this is the result of having loudnessed the recordings up, then I'm all for it. In my experience this is usually achieved by equalizing: Cutting down frequencies of the sounds which are too loud in the mix and/or raising frequencies of sounds which can barely be heard. "Loudnessing" (compression / peak limiting) will affect all sounds at once when it is applied in the post-production stage. With a full remix it can be applied to the individual sounds, but that would have required original master tapes which I don't think even the Ozrics have. And that is probably for the best because remixing is a tricky business. Even if done right (think Steve Wilson) a remix may not go down well with fans who have come to know and love the original album because the result often sounds totally different.

Just got confirmation that my box and tshirt has been shipped! Looking forward to hearing the remasters. Realllllly sorry to hear about the fire in the studio, and loosing all the original masters? Really? Thats toooo tragic. That being said, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AMAZING MUSIC! Hoping to see you all back on tour this year!

Thank god I'm past the compulsive stage, otherwise I'd definitely have to buy this. I've come to appreciate Erpsongs as the most relaxed of all Ozric recordings. This one is for the collectors. Some pictures would be very welcome though As for Sploosh! it's not that hard to find the original version, so I think it's a rather pointless reissue. I'd expect it to sell very little.

You´re 100% right about sploosh - exactly what i thought... but may be it´s coloured, marbled, picture disc or a record gimmick cover which "moves" like yield of pearl jam ? the colour scene of ed´s old amp would be great as a picture disc, or more tie dye see through :-))))) second edit: the band picture on the official homepage was wicked - when you skip the mouse over, the colours changed and remind me of the 80´s childhood. There were these tiny little paintings, and when you skip it and sunshine-angular changed you could see something different, weirdy rainbow colours´n stuff like glitter. I don´t know the name of these things anymore, how it´s called and ever exists in gimmick cover history but that would be pretty cool too.
p.s.: i´ll make a photo of Erpsongs soon :-D

Wow, I had no idea these were getting a vinyl release... now torn between the CD remasters and the vinyl. Perhaps vinyl as I have the original CDs...

FAK man, Erpsongs has a different version of Erpriff Tempting... Edit: ...or is it the one on Live Ethereal Cereal?

Hi Yannis! Erpsongs arrived over here and i can tell you, that the last track on side B, called Erpriff live, isn´t that long about 9minutes. It´s the same length like on cd. What i wonder is, that they wrote special edition first in the description, but now they don´t - i´ll ask at burning shed records...

Ah cool, thanks Jo. It would be weird to have the same version of a tune on two albums, so I reckon it was a mistake to claim that in the first place.
