Waterfall City Dance of the Loomi Pyramidion Sun Hair Tight Spin The Eternal Wheel Psychic Chasm Sploosh Valley of a Thousand Thoughts Pteranodon Neurochasm Afroclonk Aramanu Spacebase Tidal Otherness I guess that might have to go on a 2-disc set. I love to play Tidal Otherness for people and preface it with "just try to get THIS out of your head!"

Chris De Burgh thinks he's a spaceman, but he looks like a Hobbit.

I bet I could put every Ozric song on my Ipod on shuffle and it would make a great compilation in any order, especially if you are riding down a mountain whilst listening on headphones. It just makes me realise what a good band they are definitely

I would definitely add Kola B'pep to my mix. Such a groovy bass line.

You might find me slightly mad, but I do love Vedavox too and would like to add it to the mix (and hey-It's short:-))

just give them a copy of pungent effulgent and maybe erpland too tell them if they like it they can buy all the other ones for themselves. failing that... a friend complained that there were not enough tracks not dominated by guitar solos. so i made a playlist of THAT for him - you really have to pick your tracks according to what the person in question values in music - they might be a drummer or guitarist or a techno-head or someone who like calm or agitated complex or smooth music.
for this guy - with his distaste for guitar-solos, i burned...
valley of 1000 thoughts toltec spring crackerblocks spyroid ahu belahu areborescence pteranodon code for chickendom live throbbe iscence fetch me the pongmaster sliding and gliding
there were more - mostly from the early tape albums and hardly any at all from the newer stuff as the newer tracks seem to use every single idea a bit more than in the past...

A possible boxset: 1. The Malcolm Segments 2. Dovetail Years vol 1 3. Dovetail Years vol 2 4. Ozrics Go Supernova(tion) 5. Hyperspace and Beyond
I agree with modo, there's no such thing as a best of Ozrics, it's horses for courses...

Cheers. I burnt a version of the Dovetail Years Vol 1 for a friend. It contains Ayurvedic, Saucers, Strangeitude, Bizarre Bazaar and most of Erpland.
Vol 2 would contain Jurassic Shift, Half Light in Thillai, Vita Voom; Arborescence, Al Salooq, Dance of the Loomi, There's a Planet Here; Wob Glass, Vibuthi and Neurochasm.
I suspect Go Supernova(tion) would have Spyroid, Afroclonk, Curious Corn, Meander, Spiralmind, Aura Borealis, Sultana Detrii, Aramanu, Tight Spin and Ta Khut - might have to subtract one to make way for Pyramidion and/or Spaced Out/Spice Doubt .....
As for Hyperspace and Beyond my current thinking: Oakum, Psychic Chasm, Zoemetra, Spacebass, Ping, Etherclocks, aaaaaaaghhhhhhh I'm an anorak!!!!!!!! I can't choose from Yum Yum Tree because it's so damnably excellent.
My brain hurts too much to think about Malcolm Segments. Might need a vols 1 & 2....might call it Afterswish....

I made a really good mix of dubby tracks and another of floaty spacey tracks (floating seeds, meander, nakaru), now that one works really well, stick "Chickens in the mist" ala Nodens on for the intro and off you go. Love Chickens, most silly track title of any but one of my fave all timers.

Agreed - I love Chickens in the Mist. What was your track list for the dubby mix?

Imhotep, Isence, Crab Nebula, Thyroid, Oddentity and some I can't remember the name of today and some rare tracks (jams) that don't have names from gigs.

Hmmm, my picks in no particular order would be:
The Hidden Step Eternal Wheel Erpland Pixel Dream Oolite Groove & Citadel Jam Sunhair Disolution (Pungent Eflungent version) Kick Muck (Live Pongmaster's Ball version) Fetch me the Pongmaster Dance of the Loomi
That's 10 tracks, not sure what the minute breakdown is. On a given day, those choices may change...
Other favorites: Oakum Spiralmind (Erpsongs) Shima Koto Become the Other Vibuthi Magick Valley Mooncalf White Rhino Tea Atmospheric Underslunky (Strangeitude) Trees of Eternity Waterfall City

Hey ! Trees of Eternity, nice to see that on someones play list. I don't think that the band have performed that since 1989, might be wrong, but I haven't heard that one in a set for a very long time.

they just DON't make tracks like trees anymore (or use kenneth grant/ aleister crowley for titles) it is a classic example of how the band were better BEFORE They perfected their sound...

Keneth Grant was an English occultist and biographer of Austin Spare Kirk. A contemporary of big Al's.

Oh yes I know the Austin Spare book you refer to. Its just been re issued, I'm thinking of buying it. Superb artist. Not at all interested in his sigils and its inherent occultic Bolux though.

I have had loads of good results from sigil magic. A mate of mine is very much into Austin Spare and has incorporated sigils into his musical compositions somehow

that's weird - getting sigils into music - well whatever starting point gives inspiration then if held to the end will inform a shape in the sound and cause some understanding to pass across the gulf of amenta. and as for incorporatring forms of weird and mons....(Croak)

OK, I'm a newbie to OT, but I've got and heard enough to do one of these: Magick Valley (6:42) Stretchy (6:51) Jurassic Shift (11:04) Aramanu (5:59) Sploosh (6:26) Saucers (7:32) Throbbe (Live) (7:16) Ghedengi (5:43) Neurochasm (6:49) Vibuthi (10:53) Spacebase (9:36) Eternal Wheel (8:20) Mysticum Arabicola (9:14) Dissolution (6:15) Waterfall City (11:03) Curious Corn (10:56) Oakum (9:03) [Mine's a 2-CD Best-of] Not sure of the order, but I would start it with Magick Valley. I think its a nice one to kick off with and provides a good taste for the rest to follow.
