there is nothing at all inferior about this album - it is superior - in places it is frightening, but you have to realise that roly had just died so if bad energy came through then it would have been from that

Roly died later, it was in '99 if my memory serves me right.
But yeah, a few years down the line I can't even choose favourites, it's as good as any other album really.

It's one of my favorites from the band. Wob Glass is in my OT top 10, and there are plenty of other killer tracks on the album as well.

Kicks off nicely with one of the best songs on here, the spacerockin' Cat DNA, some fine guitar & bass playing in this song, excellent track. The atmospheric Ahu Belahu is basically an intro for the equally atmospheric/ambient Ghedengi. A synthy techno-dance vibe to Wob Glass, some cool bass & short guitar solo. Neurochasm is also one of the better songs on here, very cool basslines, trippy synths, nice guitar solo about midway through & some more guitar near the end, very cool trippy rock track. Become The Other almost sounds like it's going to be a reggae-inspired track at the start, but quickly settles into a smooth, calming slow atmosphere that seems familiar to me. The 1st quarter & last quarter of this song reminds me of something else I can't quite place right now. The more I listen to this song, the more I like it, very nice chill track.
Well, this is what's it's all about here folks, the awesome Vibuthi! This song has become my favorite Ozrics track & is easily one of their best compositions ever, from the performances to the arrangement, this song is incredible. This song has it all; atmosphere, acoustic guitar, great basslines, excellent drumming & not one, not two, but at least three, yes three electric guitar solos! Everything just comes together very nicely in this song, it's a bit mellow at times & a bit heavy as well, just a great mix of both, & thankfully, it clocks in at a hefty 10:50. We're treated to a middle eastern/arabian vibe here, which the flute, during the main melody, accentuates nicely, love it. Ed's guitar work on this is outstanding, love the way he drops into the first solo at 3:33, just awesome. After the first solo, the song mellows a bit with cool, spacey synths & a flute solo, great atmosphere! Picking up again at the 5:35 mark with Ed re-entering with a mini-solo, after which the song builds to a powerful, bass heavy ass kickin' with another solo & tripped out synths, which then crescendos & finally transitions nicely back to the middle eastern/arabian vibe with acoustic, & then into a kind of middle eastern/carnival atmosphere, with some Hammond sounding organ thrown in for good measure, just awesome! Ed re-enters with another solo to outro the song which ends this masterpiece rather abruptly. Wow! What a ride!
Ok, time for a cool down, lol. Plurnstyle provides the necessary & much appreciated chill-out time after that otherworldy trip of the previous, mighty Vibuthi. The reggae-inspired drumming here, lends itself nicely to the smooth, sweet atmosphere on this spacey track. The bass kind of carries this song along until it breaks off at about the midpoint, for some reverb percussion & then a bit of a Hammond organ sound, which leads to the bass re-entering & Ed treating us to a sweet little acoustic solo. The song gets a little trippy for a just a bit, & then Ed comes in with an electric solo just before the outro, pretty cool chill track, nicely done. Overall, a pretty cool Ozric's release that contains what just might be their best song, Vibuthi. Standout tracks: Cat DNA, Neurochasm, Become The Other & Vibuthi.

I agree on Vibuthi, it`s definitely top of the tops for Ozrics (who are top of the tops for music ) Funny thing looking backwards to the topic I started, I guess it grew on my a lot since that time. But damn, it`s the one (along with Arborescence and Hidden Step) that I can`t buy anywhere in Poland :/

Get them online I'd suggest buying Arborescence on vinyl if you have a record player. It has an extra little bit on side 4. Just a synth noodle, but unavailable anywhere else.

Neurochasm can be terrifying - there's a bit in Vibuthi too where everything starts to get very... Steep.... the album is just amazing, despite changing to a less subtle sound (i reckon seaweed's synths were more prominent than joies who had a tendency to provide ethereal swishes that you could easily think were just illusions in your head - ever since then the synths have been bold and upfront, and the ethnic thing did shrink a bit after this,.,.,. nonono it's just brilliant
